That ending makes me think that he's aware that Allusia may have developed feelings for him, but is knowingly trying to drown out the possibility because he considers the age gap to be too inappropriate. I know I've seen a harem anime many years ago that had a similar situation. Where everyone thought the MC was just super dense, but in one of the last episodes of the season the MC actually reveals that he's fully aware of everyone's feelings, but can't reciprocate, so he's acting dense to deflect.
