I enjoyed Akane-banashi all throughout the entire season. I'd give it a 9/10 for overall enjoyment and future potential. If it wasn't for Gigguk's 2022 Manga Awards video, I'd probably not have had discovered Akane-banashi's existence.

Like with One Piece and the East Blue, season one of the series really acts as a pro law to the story as a whole. Now we are officially reaching the Zenza Training Arc. Fun fact about this episode: about half of it is anime original content. Scenes like Shiguma reminiscing, and trying to pick out Akane's stage name, Akane becoming a celebrity after winning the karaku cup, and Akane asking Shiguma if she can keep her real name until she becomes Shin'uchi is all implied in the manga, but actually shown. These scenes also do a lot of foreshadowing! Even Akane's win inspiring her friends to pursue their dreams is anime original.

The members of the rakugo federation are some of the most prominent Shin'uchi. What you are talking about is the Arakawa Arch Four. The federation is made up of several schools. The Arakawa Arch Four are just the four best from the Arakawa school.
