About the "covering the nose thing": its due to Wei Yan (the cousin) "booping" Qiao Tao's nose in the jade shop when they first met. They are avoiding the same fate. But I'm so glad you keeping the series going! Wei Yan's character is a necessary evil in hindsight. Can't wait for the rest!

The cousin doesn't have to marry one lady, in fact if he did he'd be unusual for a noble. He can have as many concubines as he can afford. I don't know why these shows dance around it and ignore the established concubinage system and only use it as a plot point to threaten the fl. Almost ALL NOBLES had concubines, it only fell out of favour in the 20th century

When Man Man is writing the birthday invitations you need to bear in mind there was no printing press back then so everything had to be written by hand. So imagine you invite 50 people to the birthday banquet, then wrap your head around hand writing that amount of invitations in your absolute BEST handwriting/calligraphy with a tiny brush and having to grind your ink every few minutes because it dries out or gets used up by you writing.
