Nooo, that's different bathtub. And you see how the director differentiate the couple with his choice of color grading. Cold for Qian Qian and Qi Min, and warm for Chang Yu and Xie Zheng. And that aestethic of Yin and Yang symbol when Zheng pulled Chang Yu to him. Chang Yu in black and Zheng in white when they're in the bathtub, and Chang Yu in white and Zheng in black when they're in bed. Btw, there was a deleted scene after they woke up. Chang Yu crawled up from under the blanket and complained that she was really tired and Zheng looked really proud of himself while kissing her ear passionately. It got censored and made everyone mad when this episode aired. About Zheng's mom. She knew how her brother was. If she kept alive, Zheng couldn't be safe because Wei Yan would be afraid that she'll tell her son about the truth. To avoid that, Wei Yan will kill them all. That's Wei Yan's rule, eliminate all of his enemies from the roots. And because Xie family also tried to sue Wei Yan for Xie Lin Shan's murder, Wei Wan's death will be like compensation from Wei family to Xie family. And by letting Zheng goes under Wei Yan's protection, she made sure his son will be alive.

i am not ashamed to say that xie zheng & changyu's bathtub scene is my most rewatched scene of this series, i have to replayed it multiple times, the scene itself is beautifully shot, the used of warm tones in opposed it qian qian/qimin's blue tones that signify coldness, while the other is warmth, love when changyu asked who she is verifying even at his state, he recognized her and his desires are to changyu. love the reaction to their sweet moments ♥️ there is a scene where they got more intimate in the bed, i hate that they cut it 😭 qimin is so toxic and i am glad qian qian is too smart to know that is not love, she may have pity him sometimes so it kinda looks like she is starting to have feeling for him, but qian qian knows the difference between love and obsession.

This episode I have to say that Qi Min’s actor is AMAZING 😂 he shows truly a crazy obsessive person who is truly broken. When you hate a character so much you know the actor is doing a great job 😂

I will never understand the full makeup, full jewelry, full bedazzeler gun beads, full robes, full hairdo for sleep scenes - it's like the grand princess passed out then the maids changed and bathed her and redid her hair, makeup, jewelry, face jewelry, and put her in new clothes to sleep

Peppermint

Haha side note in the book when they had sex, they did it for 7 days which is why Changyu was so tired. XD

Jae

that was after their grand wedding and marriage, as their new titles, their honeymoon was 7 days of constant consummation

Peppermint

Interesting. There's two different answers on Google. When I specifically search for after hes drugged and bath scene it says 7 days but if i dont search it that way it says after marriage.

Wonderful reaction

Great reaction. consort Qi (Qi Rongyi - Wei Yan's beloved) was the late emperor's consort, not Crown Prince Chongde 's wife (the crown princess)

Zhange Linghe said it was his favorite scene, since they were working water. I noticed tge Yin Yang symbolism in their white and black robes swirling around each other. I dont know if it is the same tub as the one in a previous episode. But two tube scenes demonstrated the differences in the two love relationships

Everything just happened to get solved magically after sleeping together. Both halves of the tiger tally dropped in her lap out of the blue and Zheng figures out the key to the whole mystery because of a dream. I mostly give it a pass since the rest of the show is so good, but I was hoping for a bit more. The ending felt a bit rushed.

I think that criticism misses one of the story's central themes. From the very first episode, PoJ establishes that fate is an active force, not just random coincidence. If the ending is "too convenient" because Changyu receives the two halves of the tiger tally or Xie Zheng discovers Qi Rongyin's letter at just the right moment, then by the same logic, Changyu finding an injured Xie Zheng in the snow—a man whose past is inseparably tied to her own—would also be "too convenient." But those coincidences are intentional because the story consistently portrays destiny as the force that eventually rewards sacrifice and brings long-buried truths to light. The finale isn't saying the clues magically appeared; it's showing that the previous generation preserved the truth with the hope that, one day, the right people would inherit it. In that sense, the dead truly guided the living, which is exactly the story the drama had been telling from the beginning.

No poor guy Xie Wu hasn't had any. He's a professional soldier so he would have been raised as a member of the Xie clan to join their army. Basically all his life spent training and fighting. Just like Xie Zheng who also hadnt had any before Changyu. No fraternising in the military!! They would have officially joined the army at probably 15 yrs like the catapult kid Changyu let go.

I think Qian Qian does have feelings for him for real but he's too controlling and his obsession. The way how he don't mind killing off his son. Qian Qian played along yet still shows him that she hates him. It's a push and pull that he seems to like and to keep him from killing other people if Qian Qian don't listen.
