To slightly excuse Elfie acting like a child she’s an orphan who was taken and restricted from seeing her first love at age 10 and had to watch him be bullied for years unable to help him despite being one of the 5 top mages. Is it an ick? Yeah totally but also it’s understandable she would be slightly stunted in her growth emotionally. I got no excuse for Colette

What's kind of sad is the major controversy a number of the manga community wanted to turn Will going to Zeo's faction - as if it clearly wasn't the best choice for him. Not only is Zeo more aligned to his sword-style of combat, it could be argued that because of Elfie's slothfulness (and likeliness to cuddle him in her room all day like she's done with his stuffies) that he'd stagnate if he were in the Ice faction. Not to mention, if Elfie wants Will to stand alongside her as a fellow magia vander, he can't be part of her faction anyway. I love Elfie, but she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. As far as S3, those manga chapters were really, really good, so I'm looking forward to them being adapted.

Colette makes more sense if you read the prequel light novel volume 2 (I don't think it's officially translated to English, just happened to see it in passing on Wistoria reddit as someone there translated it chapter by chapter) ig. I say this as someone who's not read the source material (it's manga, I fucking HATE manga as a format, compared to anime or LNs/WNs), too.
