I appreciate how they give us just enough time to realize something hinky was going on before revealing the truth about that daemon. It also explains how there wasn't a kerfuffle while they were on their search for Left and Right, and by extension, Yuru, on the highway. The way the "Mom" spoke to the boy also gives me the vibe that the daemons themselves don't actually know why Yuru and Asa are so important, only that they must protect the former. This episode and the last really did a great job of endearing me to Fake Asa, or rather, Girl, as well. Not so much in that she was trying to protect the Granny, but how she uses her body to shield the little girl. The developing dynamics alone has me fully trusting Arakawa again. It just keeps getting interesting, I'm thankful this is one of the handful of series that's allowed to have a full 2-cour season

Duskynote

If you go back to the first episode, you could tell that he has no shadow back then as well crazy foreshadowing back from episode one
