Sooo many emotional moments are coming... 🥹 Loved your reaction ❤️

Mad Hatter

On the topic of horse-riding, I highly encourage you to try it! I rode horses as a pass time, volunteer effort and for sport for 6 years. Due to breaking my tailbone I had to pause for a year, and sadly due to life (exams, university, money constraints and relocation) I needed to quit and have only ridden casually on occasion for the past few years. However, I have never ONCE regretted the time I spent around/on horses. Don't get me wrong, the sport itself is incredibly dangerous. However the likelihood of you falling off or getting any other major injury during a casual walk around an enclosed arena on a seasoned, tourist-ready horse is slim. Horses are flight animals in most fight/flight contexts, so the occasional sudden jerk to the side or small sprint/trot is likely to happen due to some plastic bag in the wind. But MOST good riding schools or reputable equestrian tourist institutions will keep an eye out for that AND thoroughly educate you on the proper way to "ride out" a spook. The most important thing to remember is that the problem and danger with horse riding isn't even the horses, but the industry and people themselves. Hence why I HIGHLY encourage you do your research on the place you're riding at. Many just use horses as cheap laborers to make them money. They are not properly desensitized to cars, loud noises or inexperienced riders. Often times heavily abused, mistreated, and numb. OR explosively angry and then seen as "dangerous". They are much like dogs in that sense. Horse riding is so incredibly therapeutic and often even recommended as a form of physical therapy, since it engages every part of the human body. Like the unimaginable balance, core strength, leg strength, back muscle strength, arm/lifting strength needed in the sport is crazy. I was in the best physical and mental shape in my life when I was committed to the equestrian lifestyle. Long story short, please don't let fear limit you in this situation. Try it. Maybe go to an open-to-tourist-entry stable and pet some horses, ask the workers about them. Then later go and walk around on horseback in a casual arena. The sport of it all is optional and you can take stuff gradually. Horses often feel your tension and fear, since you're literally sitting on their back and they feel how you lean forward in fear, or tense up around their body. Please try horse-riding, but also do so at a place you research and can (to the best of your ability) say is ethical in how they treat their horses. I helped countless tourists take their first rides on horses and the worst thing you can do is go in without any information and big fears/expectations. Sorry for the ramble, just felt that this was important to say in case you or anyone else reading this is afraid and hesitant when they could experience the kind of joy I did. (PSA, any horse riding place that doesn't ask for your height, weight and stuff is likely a red flag. I mean like this pisses me off in many dramas too, because on MOST horses, two adults sitting on ONE horse is TOO MUCH WEIGHT for their back. It is unhealthy for the poor thing. The horse you ride needs to be appropriately strong enough to carry your weight ♥)

Hey, love your reactions as always! Sorry I'm a bit late, but I think there may have been a small misunderstanding from previous episodes. Wei Yan wasn't against Wei Shao falling in love with Manman. He was being intentionally contradictory to make Wei Shao realize his own feelings. It was his way of getting Wei Shao to openly admit that he was already in love despite the guilt surrounding his family's death. He does something similar in this episode. He openly compliments his grandma and aunt, leaving the perfect opening for Wei Shao to mention Manman's jewelry. Instead, Wei Shao fumbles it by saying he "just bought it at random." Wei Yan, a little like Manman, often says things indirectly, so not everything he says is meant to be taken at face value. Remember after the conversation the other night, Wei Shao goes home, sees Manman, and Wei Yan's words keep echoing in his mind. The message was essentially: You don't need anyone's permission to fall in love. You're already in love you just don't know how to deal with the guilt over your family's loss. Even the peacock is more honest than you. (I'm paraphrasing, of course.) I think that's one of the reasons people appreciate Wei Yan's character growth. All of Wei Yan' advice to his cousin comes from a sincere place. Early on, he disliked the Qiao family, which was understandable from his perspective, and viewed Manman as no different from the rest, so his advice to Wei Shao reflected that distrust. But once he got to know who Manman really was, his advice changed to match his new understanding of her. Hopefully you see this comment so you get to enjoy his character a bit more. Or better yet, by now you've already picked up on those nuances with his character, so this comment may not even be necessary. I just thought I'd mention it because I really enjoyed watching his growth.

Also, my reaction to this episode was very similar to yours "Please don't fall in love with her, he's falling for her. Please, please don't fall in lo- god Noooooooooooo......." It's like watching a speeding train with no breaks about to crash.

All I will say about Wei Yan developing feelings for Man Man is TOO LATE! The scholar is very misleading. Lord Wei being effected by the green-eyed monster as soon as he hears the scholar is young is quite funny.

I just realised that the scholar is the father of the female lead in Key to the Phoenix Heart!! It's a good show if you ever decide to watch it Joe, only 28 episodes.

I've been wanting to get to key to the phoenix heart! hou minghao was amazing in love in the clouds finally there's another drama of him.

Brissygirl

I highly recommend Phoenix Heart, he and Ai Mi do a fantastic job as the main couple. I even dusted off my plot bunnies after 10 years and started writing a fan fic for it.
