This style of opening is obviously more work for a whole season, but i think it makes the show really stand out from others in a positive way. It also cuts down on potential spoilers a lot.

Great reaction and commentary Joe! I don't have a problem with people hating on Rudy, they should, he deserves it. I have a problem with people who cant distinguish fiction from reality and just make blanket statements about shows like this without having watched a single episode. Rudy is a main character that makes you uncomfortable and that's fine, that is how he is written. It's why Cliff and Norn are my favorite characters. They call him out for his shit but they still love and support him.

They might have only showed Roxy's pantsu, but keep in mind Rudy has two relics on this shrine, the second being the bloody sheet from when Sylphie sacrificed her virginity to cure Rudy's ED, making her the Goddess of Love in his pantheon (Roxy being the Goddess of Wisdom). The anime skipped over that part, but I know you've experienced enough of the LN on audio to know about this.

I don't think it was ever stated how far back the Greyrat line splits into the 4 houses, even so scientifically a 2nd cousin relationship isn't considered to be risky as the shared lineage goes back too far, sharing less than 5 % of the same DNA unless your strain happens to be remarkably strong which considering Eris takes after Hilda much more then, I don't remember her fathers name, would err to those genes either being dominant or overly represented in Eris herself.

The two first episodes made me hyped up for mushoku coming back. But of course Rudy and people around him needed to kill my hype by being cringe and weird. Can we just kill all of them and make Eris protagonist of the series? jk. Btw ending visuals were made by the same duo that made ED for latest kingdom season, that's why it looks so good

You probably don't remember, but the cut out bloody fabric from Sylphy's first time is also in the shrine, in the wooden box. They showed the patched up bed sheet and Rudy then places the box in the shrine at the beginning of Season 2 Episode 13.

Not some, ONLY Millis religion bans polygamy, polygamy is more or less the default everywhere else in the world (although realistically only possible for rich merchants & nobles, because of economic etc practical reasons that has made polygamy not a mainstream thing IRL even pre-Abrahamic religions etc)
