I think that the issue really is the age + familial relationship. A 3 year gap by itself isn't a thing, the Familial part isn't a thing given the premise of the show. You put them together though and they act as force multipliers on each other shooting them firmly into the, da fuck category.

Chiyo is animated to look so much younger than she actually is. 13 year olds are not perfect little beings, they have acne, hair growing on arms and definitely have growth spurts by this time.

Kurumi is also a year younger than Rentaro. I don't care though. It's all played up for jokes. It still blows my mind that there are people drawing the line about Chiyo when Hahari has been 100 million times worse.. basically since the Krrrack! I mean in this episode alone, Chiyo was insanely annoying and she was still not even CLOSE to as problematic as Hahari was in this episode alone. And this isn't even the worst we've seen from Hahari.

well yes and no. She is like you said animated. It's more the art style fault. It's an anime and making her a child make her look that way cause they probably don't plan on drawing a realistic 13 yo that would be worst, come on . Even the old lady in some shows do not look there age thx to how they are drawn. If you take one piece you can see that it's impossible to guess the age of anybody.

"Very weird" is what I remembered from this reaction. I mean yes if you point everything out it's weird. But you know what is weird too. When people make everything about sex like perv. If you even think of those situations when those are children then you are part of the probleme (not you specificaly). The show even try to at least make rentaro do the right thing depending on who he is interacting with. Now let's stop thinking about pervert stuff every time we see the scene with those characters. The pervert are Ahari and her daugher so they get those kind of scene. Just try every time to think am I the dirty mind in this situation, have I been too exposed to weird stuff and now I'm projecting.

actually rarely ever see acne, hair on arms or any of what you said in anime if not on purpose.
