No, the Crown Prince’s spirit is one of the king’s sons. So he’s Saeng-gang’s brother. We saw him at the beginning of the first episode, when he died. And right after that, we saw the Queen Dowager telling the king that the princes were dying one after another (because of the pond spirit). The rest will be explained in the upcoming episodes.

The one King was talking to saying he'll take revenge, i assume it was Gu-cheon. My interpretation was that Gu-cheon was keeping an eye on the King in spirit(ish?) form so the King somehow sensed him and was talking to him. Saying that because he failed to banish the spirit his son died and so he will get his revenge on Gu-cheon for that. That's why they immediately cut to Gu-cheon next saying something along the lines of "Damn it, I should've fled when I had the chance" in response to what the King said in his room. Also, yeah as Mr. GPT pointed out this crown prince is the current King's own son not the previous King's son or his brother. More to come on this. This presiding diety of the shaman was so creepy when i first saw it too like eugghhh what is thattt. the creepy head tilt with wide toothless smile made me feel all grossed out. this would indeed make a good game if they did it with good graphics.

Just to untangle the confusion about the crown prince. The crown princes that had been referred to by the term "crown prince" were the oldest half brother of the current king, who died 30 years ago. and the crown prince we saw die in the first scene of episode one, who was the current king's son. The crown prince we are worrying about at the moment is not the one from 30 years ago, but the one from episode one (who went insane and drowned himself). Which is why we are wondering about the reason for his resentment. We suspect the king killed his own half-brother 30 years ago but the question is why is it the king's son instead haunting the king and the princess. And also a reminder, the empress dowager is not the king's mum. The grandmother that is helping with the hiding is the king's real mum.
