This episode was peak Ghost in the Shell. It really felt like the series distilled to its purest form in one episode. If you dug the vibes of this episode, then I'd really suggest picking up Stand Alone Complex, the first anime series adapted from Ghost in the Shell. As much as it took inspiration from the movie, one of the key areas they focused on was that cop procedural drama with a cyberpunk twist. (Maybe make it Patreon-exclusive? 👀) Otherwise, I'd say the Jameson cyborgs are one of the most interesting aspects of the Ghost in the Shell world. Where, in a society where replacing your entire body is possible, of course you'd have those who opt to discard their entire outwardly human appearance and place themselves in these inhuman shells. Then, there's the ghost-dubbing machine. That one's horrifying in concept. An individual is tethered to a machine, and a "cloning" process is started, intended essentially to transfer the human consciousness, and is so thorough and invasive, that in most cases, it KILLS the original person. Some folks in the series can survive doing it more than once, but it's inevitable that you lose yourself eventually. Great episode, and if they keep this quality up, it might be an all-timer!
