AFAIK purple, green & blue are generally used to depict black hair in manga etc. It's basically a form of tinting. For example Maomao in anime has rly fucking green hair, vs her LN color illustrations that show green-tinted black hair. I reckon anime generally tends to use more brown color for hair vs the more standard black color Japanese have (note how in GITS many more mfs have brown hair, rather than black hair) for some reason. So since she's wearing that uniform, I reckon it's to showcase her w/ a more "normal" hair color, seriousness etc wise? I think manga makes pure black hair color look like shit, hence why tons of manga have hair color closer to brown rather than pure black, for saturation etc purposes

The reason anime didn't woolseyism the firefly thing, is probably because EVERYONE FUCKING KNOWS WHAT A "DESK JOCKEY" IS, so it would make 0 sense for him to be confused, vs a more obscure term like "firefly" (which is probably more military personnel etc POV term, rather than office etc generic desk jockey term that anyone regardless of their specific field would already know)

IIRC it's almost impossible to get the uncensored version in print in general. I'm not even sure the English version EVER had the orgy.
