They could title the book as "The Military Chronicles of a Little Girl". Hmm... sounds better in Japanese, where it's "Yōjo Senki". Yes, that's the literal translation of the series Japanese name. Saga of Tanya the Evil is an incredibly liberal, but still fitting translation that probably helped it gain a foothold with international audiences.

This anime is so good, I wish people didn’t just want all action all the time. The story is fantastic, it deserves more views.

What really blew my mind is the Empire has no endgame; no definition of what "victory" is. Just telling the soldiers to go out and "achieve victory". And from that point I can understand why the military would take desperate measures to the point of bombing their own capital - to wake their asses up. There was a peace deal on the table that would have guaranteed reset boundaries to where they were pre-war. I can understand turning that down because with as much as the Empire expended in this war, they wanted something out of it. But that's not even what this is - the Empire wants "victory" - whatever that is - because at this point nobody knows.
