In the LN this part is literally just our Rudy reading each entry, putting the book down to absorb it, reading again, rinse repeat. Still good. But this being animated from Oldeus pov was a whole new outlook and im pretty sure everyone who read the light novel was stunned to see it animated. I learned several things that wernt obvious in the LN at all like eris "yapping" but in the anime it shows she was really glazing him.

That's purely my assumption after rewatching the episode multiple times: Hitogami says that after the teleportation happened the future changed. I'm guessing it was a future in which Hitogami would be in danger. We also learned that Rudeus will not live long enough to be able to reach the world where Hitogami is. That means Rudeus doesn't pose a threat to Hitogami directly. Then why causing Roxy's death benefits him, why does he reveals to Rudy that Roxy was pregnant? There's maybe another explanation but the only thing coming to my mind would be that his aim was to kill Roxy's child. If Roxy herself was the target, Hitogami could have tried to kill her way before. I think what he didn't want is special Rudy to have a child with Roxy. Being a half-demon half-human, I supposed he could live long enough until the treasures to access the hitogami realm appears. I guess he would inherit a huge part of Rudy's mana capacity as well. Maybe I'm going too far but that child could be the one killing hitogami in the future if not stopped early on. If the story continue after Rudy's death that would be dope.

What an episode! Loved how they showed "reading" the diary. Something about alternate scenarios that satisfy my curiosity. All the crap Rudy goes through, then villain Rudy, man that was something else.

Like father Like son. First he gets multiple wives and now he drowns his sorrow in alcohol. I agree that most of this probably would not have happened if he just stayed away from the drinks. Sylvie would still be here, his family would still be at home and he probably would have been able to talk with Eriis. Crazy that the only reason that Hitogami appeared again is to torture Rudeus. I hope that we can get revenge for Oldeus somehow.

As fantastic as this episode was I dont think I can watch it again for a long while. Even with knowing that this is a different timeline the thought of this potentially being Rudeus' future is just very haunting to me.

Dam. This episode really emphasized how being a good person is a choice you have to make every day. Some days that choice is going to be a lot easier than others. But it really shows how far you can fall when you don't care anymore.

the fact that they had to censor how Aisha, Ginger, and Julie died just shows how brutal it was. In the novel they were chopped into pieces by the knights. Im kinda glad they censored that...

This episode was so peak! I am anime only so I can only assume and theorise but my guess is that the fact that Roxy was pregnant was in itself the thing that he wanted to prevent - the child being born, ALSO in this episode we found out that Rudy will not be able to reach Hitogami in his lifetime, soo what if it is the Roxy's and Rudeus's first child be the one to reach him and kill him and why Hitogami was afraid of changed future.

Rudeus losing Roxy turns Rudeus into the biggest villain in the series - literally #1 most wanted in both Millishion and Asura (and he literally burns a lot of Ars - the Asuran capital - to the ground in retaliation for their executing Sylphie). Hitogami made a gigantic mistake, though - laughing at and rubbing what he did in Rudeus' face. Like that won't come back to backfire on him - Rudeus literally learned how to time travel in order to reset the timeline and derail his plans.
