To answer your question some more, a lot of these actors actually have previously worked in dramas/movies with the same setting, so I’m sure the casting directors definitely offered based on that. Also a lot of these actors were just somewhat fluent in Japanese before. The actor (Jin SunKyu) who plays Shinichi Sato revealed that he stayed in Japan for some months in preparation for this role to better his accent, which paid off because a lot of Japanese viewers are praising his accent.

Also another thing, which Koreans have pointed out, is that theres purposely noticeable accents in some of the characters when they’re not speaking their primary language. For example, Yoo Philip (the American reporter) has an American accent when speaking Japanese, Yoo SoRan (who had left to China for awhile) purposely puts on a Chinese accent when speaking Korean and Shinichi Sato has a Japanese accent when speaking Korean. Which goes to show just how much attention to detail the writers and directors really worked on in order to add so much more depth to this kdrama.

Subscribed cause I wanted to watch the full reaction! I’m really loving this drama so far, and everyone’s acting has been so good! I was also thinking that maybe they chose these actors partly because they’re multilingual, since I know Park JinYoung (Male Lead) is good at both English and Japanese. But of course, they’re all well known actors who are good at acting, so I’m sure that played a big part too! Anyway, from what I've seen so far, this drama has been getting a pretty good response from viewers. And, I haven’t noticed the AI issue yet. Looking forward to watching more of your reactions ! ❤️

Also, when you said Jinyoung looks like a younger version of Taecyeon, I just remembered that Jinyoung is from GOT7 and Taecyeon is from 2PM , GOT7’s sunbaes from JYP! 2PM and GOT7 even refer to each other as older and younger brothers, so I guess he really does look like his elder brother ! 😂 (Both of them are kpop idols)

My issue with this show and AI is in the wide shots. In the first episode, you said the train station was CGI, but I don't think so, it's straight-up AI. We’re living in an era where CGI is going to go from being hated to being accepted, simply because there are actual humans behind the work, unlike scenes in this show that are 100% AI.
