Sancturillore -- Élie Simard-Wallot

There's a pretty big mistranslation in the subtitles in this episode. It's not the Devil King that is a spell. They said 'devil folks' not 'devil king' when they were talking about that. Plus, it was already established since the fight and talk between devil king Orm and Lufas in season 1 that he wasn't a devil folk.

Something about Terra and Eros not made clear in the anime here. It's implied that they are different from the devilfolks possibly (in my opinion) because unlike the devilfolks those two might not be attack spells, but instead spells aimed at creating an autonomous being to act as a representative. I assume that this is why Dina/Venus does not consider Terra an NPC. And the mention of Eros breaking away from the Goddess implies that he managed to become independent and thus no longer counts as under the control of the Goddess, which would also make him not an NPC.

The explanation of the Argonautai was skipped from the scene shown in this episode, so here's a simple rundown without details (since the actual details of how it works are explained later on and I don't want to spoil you): - The Argonautai are the summoned souls of beings/heroes who died in the past and are summoned by the other half of the Gemini/Twin star, aka the little sister mentioned in this episode. - The ones summoned here weren't summoned by Castor, but were instead simply manning the ship. I don't know why the anime made it seem like they were summoned in the air like that. What he did was call them forward to fight. - The Argonautai spirits seen in this episode are specifically the people who sided with Lufas in the war vs the Seven Heroes controlled by the Goddess and who died either in that war or after. In other words, it's an army of those who stayed loyal to Lufas. That's why Castor called it the 'Black-Winged Army', because that was the name of Lufas' army 200 years prior.

Dina/Venus said that she was just like Luna, an NPC, before meeting "her", which I'm assuming is the goddess. I'm getting the impression, that the Goddess can turn them into PCs or something resembling a player character. They might even be able to develop their own personality outside of their programming & that's what Dina/Venus meant. Which would explain why she was willing to tell Terra and not tell Luna. It seems like Terra is starting to go against his programming and is developing his own personality. Whereas Luna is just following orders still. With how much they're focusing on Luna, I get the feeling that will change by the end of the series. If that's the case, then Dina/Venus might legitimately be scared of the goddess & might not be bullshitting. Those are just my guesses, though. I have no prior knowledge and do my best to avoid other people who do have source material knowledge.

In fact, devil king is the only one whos not a spell. That mistranslation is so messed up.

I think she meant Lufas myself. After all, she would have started out as a mere puppet of the Goddess, so it makes no sense w/ a line like "AFTER I met her (ano kata)" for it to refer to the goddess Alovenus, rather than Lufas. Venus/Dina quite literally calls Luna "like I used to be before meeting her", after she literally called Luna a puppet/NPC just a moment ago, so clearly this refers to Dina as created as the Avatar of the Goddess(?), who gained self-awareness as a mere toy/puppet to the goddess Alovenus after meeting Lufas (she's already been pretty much stated to have SSS-tier rizz stat, based on all the prior flashbacks & even the wholeass S1 of current time content too) at some point (either in the past 200+ years ago, to before the S1E1 Exgate & the freed "Lufas" traveling to the tower w/ her on standby there by that point) on the timeline. I mean "that person" is often (when not used disparagingly) used as a sort of form of reverence to someone, by adding a form of courtesy distance. Dina literally stated in S1 "my BELOVED Lufas Maphaahl" during the heated part of the 1v1 (refer to this clip I found w/ quick googol maf: https://youtu.be/IAIZiXbEXyo ), so I can't actually think of anyone else it could refer to based on these data points + guesswork based on countless other IP I've read over the decades of similar-ish overall plot points. Guess we'll see in the future, once the fr end-game of Lufas vs Alovenus becomes more relevant & probably all the distinctions are going to be fully hashed out lore drops etc wise (w/ maybe even Dina flashback montage too, as per shonen template for supporting chars glazing GigaChad MC). Assuming this series is getting more seasons ofc (many such cases, SAD!).

Wait isn't he? I thought he was THE Control Node (he states as much in S1 near the end in The Reveal) for the Mazoku Spell that Alovenus created, hence why he's incapable of defying the goddess, since he's technically part of the spell in the sense of a control unit (kinda like a supercomputer used to run quantum program shit or w/e, I guess?). Well OK fair enough he's probably not part of the spell per se, but more like a computer running the software, so he'd still be unable to fr defy anything Alovenus orders him to do as the Control Unit for the spell, so IMO that's more or less the same. I think the computer analogue is fitting, as it does explain how he can do the same shit Alovenus has done, because obviously a computer can execute anything an active user can, as long as it has the baseline automation to be able to do those autonomously.

I don't want to spoil anything, so I will neither confirm nor deny your theories and thoughts. I quite like reading theories. All I will say however is that nowhere in this episode was the devil king referred to as a spell. He is the only one connected to that side(devilfolks) and the goddess to have not been referred to as a spell. So if he's a spell, then it would have to be a different spell that they do not know about.

I can see it going either way. Dina could've easily been created as an Avatar of Allovenus, without ever realizing it, like the demons, until she actually met with Allovenus and was granted true sentience. Dina is clearly up to her own shenanigans, that seem to be separate from both Lufas and Allovenus, because according to Terra & Dina herself this episode, Dina is working with the Devil king who we know (or at least believe) is against Allovenus. I can see a world where Dina, similar to Eros, is going against the goddess and trying to break her narrative alongside the Devil king. Because, whatever Dina is up to, it seems like she was already in motion with her scheme before Lufas even showed up. On the other hand, I can also see things from your point of view, where upon meeting Lufas, Dina started developing her own personality separate from just being the Avatar of Allovenus. Possibly from developing a pseudo crush/affection toward Lufas just like the 12 Zodiacs. It could be another passive trait of Lufas, where the people (NPCs) that are around her, eventually start developing their own personalities distinct from their programming. Essentially, Lufas has the power to break Allovenus's spells & overturn her authority over the world. Either way, I'm pretty confident that Dina isn't on the goddess's side anymore, at least, as much as she can be in defiance. The goddess probably still does have some type of grip over Dina, but I'm pretty confident that Dina is plotting against her alongside the Devil king & they both plan to use Lufas to overturn the goddess. On that note, maybe Lufas even showing up was what "woke Dina up", like you said, as she realized that through Lufas, she could overturn Allovenus. I'm sure the show will get renewed for another season. The western audience isn't as important as we think when it comes to these shows getting another season. If it does well in Japan, then they'll renew the show regardless of how it performs in foreign markets & Japan has a different taste than the western audience does. Until then, we'll just have to give our best guesses.

All the devil king talk about him being a spell is a huge translation error (and this episode has countless errors lol). It's not the Devil King, it's the Devil Folk who's a spell. According to the Devil King, the Goddess put him in charge of the Devil Folk, so he's not a part of that spell

shweampy

it getting more interesting for sure (I kinda lost what Dina is atp tbh 😂)

Another great episode, I can’t wait to see more of them 🙏🏻❤️

I love a forgetful Joe lol. "She's just a blonde Dina." actually made me laugh. She always plays that she's a weakling but she's actually crazy strong. Was looking forward to your Libra Gundam reaction.
