I think you'll enjoy this series very much.  The Coast Guard is a very interesting organization.  Imagine waking up every day trying to figure out how to save more lives. Incredible! I really enjoyed this, the first video in a series on the Coast Guard, where we take a close look inside a US Coast Guard Command Center at Sector Mobile, in Mobile, AL. In future videos we will visit Destin, FL as well as New Orleans LA. I think you'll find these to be very interesting places to explore!

Thank you VERY MUCH for your support on Patreon.

If you're around San Francisco next month (unlikely, but hey) you could come join us (Sheriff Marine Search and Rescue) for our sonar training that's happening next month. We'll be talking sector-scan sonar and how we use it to direct our divers toward their goal (weapons, bodies, etc)

Thank you for this, Destin. My dad was in the Navy in the mid to late 40's, 1946 - 1948, after WW2 and he always had a great respect for the Coast Guard. I knew what he told me from then was cool, but this is even better.

Zach Wiggin

That intro drawing/animation was so cool!

Zach Wiggin

My brother in law is a helicopter pilot for the coast guard up in Alaska. He does a lot of search and rescue stuff. I can ask if he’s able to talk to you if you want.

Michael Lloyd

I'm really looking forward to this one. You make these so personal.

Andy D

Incredible stuff, Destin. Thanks for these awesome perks for us patrons.

Michael Coolidge

I must admit that I did 30 years in the Air Force. It was not until my last 5 years that I met and got significant respect for the Coasties. Now, I have a Nephew that is one. They are definitely the unknown branch of the “Services”. Their role is “silent” but highly impactful. They are the unsung heroes. Good on you for highlighting them.

KTMan77

Oh hell yeah! The submarine series was spectacular, I have no doubt that this will be just as good or better. That’s for putting in the work Destin. Regards from Canada.

Ben Fisher

So excited for this series!

Aidan Boyer

I am super excited for this! As a hobbyist sailor out on open Lake Huron, I view the Coast Guard as a sort of guardian angels - they're the top-tier lifeguards who keep all of us idiot boaters from dying out there.

Troy Wilson

Hey from Canada! Looking forward to the series and how the Coast Guard operates. Plus it’s a bonus seeing down south. Always loved going to the Gulf Coast when I was kid. My heart is always in Alabama. Roll Tide.

Alexander Scheeben

Would be great to get the opportunity to board the Eagle. I was always wondering how a sailing ship fits in with the coast guard. Saw her quiete often when I was aboard another tall ship and there was a parade or smth, so all the tall ships came together

Sander Klein Breteler

This was a really awesome episode, I am looking forward to the next episodes!! :D

Robert Sanges

We had a joke in the US Navy: You know, you need to be at least 6 feet tall to be in the US Coast Guard. Oh really, why? So when your ship sinks you can wade ashore.

Jack Griffiths

This is great Destin, I can't wait to watch this series

Mark

Can't wait to see Destin in Destin!

Nathaniel Lewis

Why do they wear bell-bottoms in the CG? So that when their boat sinks they can easily roll them up to walk to shore. ;)

I wanted to join the USCG, ended up joining the USAF instead so this will be interesting.

I'm soooooo pumped for this.

I watched the first one of this series - looks great! I was impressed at all of the new information that I gleaned from your video!

Anonymous

I am even more excited about this series after seeing the one on the submarine, amazing content!

Anonymous

Wow, really excellent content! My sister is a Coasty so this is a cool look into her world! I don't know any Public Affairs people, but it sure would be awesome if we could get you out here to do something like this for the Space Force.

Anonymous

Destin, brilliant content as usual, sir! The submarine series was excellent and this one is off to an equally auspicious beginning. Thanks for being one of the best, most thoughtful, and informative creators out there. I recommend your videos all the time and this series is easily shareable.

Anonymous

I'm totally in for this entire series! Great to learn about all of this. I will say, the "Deep Dive" description for the submarine series was a hilarious pun, and I'm crying at the missed opportunity for another appropriate pun for this set.

László Tánczos

Good topic! Looking forward for the series! You always surprise me with an interesting topics! Let's get smarter every day!

Brett B

I am excited to see the series! Thank you for making me smarter.

Shawn A Likley

My kids are trying to whistle like you! You made it look so easy... We're still trying 😅
