🔒 Group locking, 🎨 Groups backgrounds, ⛶ New theme and more! (Patreon)

It took me longer than expected (I've been sick yet again!) but the new version 21.7 is finally here with some exciting new features!

🔒 Groups locking

This has been one of the most requested features!

Why did it took so long?I wanted to make it right, which means using proper cryptographic algorithms to secure your password (and later to be able to securely encrypt all the data). I've used the know-how from my Private Notes addon :).

Features:- lock a group in the "Edit group" / "Settings" / "Lock this group"- you can lock one or multiple groups (PRO only)- locked groups can be hidden- all locked groups shares the same "master password"- your password is not saved, it's securely hashed and cannot be recovered (I'm using PBKDF2 with 1e6 iterations of SHA-256 and 128bit salt)- data in the locked groups are not yet encrypted (unlike the password)- I've build a "Help me remember my password" feature to make sure you don't forget your password!

🎨 Group specific background!

You can now use different background for each group!

Before you could set only a different background color, now you can use also "Image from file", "Image from URL" or use some cool "Gradient colors".

⛶ New theming options

Are you tired of the same old look of your dials? Wanna try something new? :)

1. Transparent title style:

Head to the "Options page" / "Dials" tab and enable "Transparent dial name background" and let's use also the "Centered dial names".

And while you are in the Options page, see also "Mouse over effects" section!

2. Hide dial title:

"A picture is worth a thousand words" - a nice logo often says enough and you don't need a title. Now you can hide it on individual dials using "Hide dial title" option (see "Edit dial" / "Visual" tab).

3. Thumbnail padding:

Bigger is not always better! Sometimes the logo is "Edge-to-edge" and it doesn't look that good. You can now adjust the "space around the image" in the "Edit dial" / "Visual" tab / "Thumbnail padding":

What's next?

There is so many cool features to be implemented! I don't really know which to do first, but I know I want to make them all!

This is my current, unsorted, Top priority list, let me know in the comments which of these would you like to see the most:

- virtual group: "Recently closed tabs and windows" -> when you know you've had an important tab opened just moments ago but can't remember what it was

- virtual group: "Live tabs and windows" -> a group that shows all your opened windows and tabs. With features like search / close / move, or even more advanced like "Create / Restore current session".

- easier setup of "nice looking logos" -> there should be a "popular logos" displayed the moment you open "Edit dial" window or add a new page

- enterprise feature "group sharing and collaboration" -> when you want to share your group with your team / family / friends / public!

- end to end encryption for locked groups and option to encrypt everything

- the "Desktop app dial" -> imagine having dials that can launch your desktop apps, like Notepad / Calculator / Excel

- the "Weather dial" -> because this is the one thing everyone needs :)

- the "Todo dial" -> to help you achieve your goals :)
