Just watched pirates of the Caribbean again to see the kraken scenes. Kind of hoping for Axel to either make a comment about how fried kraken tastes like calamari (or the westeros equivalent) or possibly get eaten by the kraken and cut it apart from the inside. Maybe figure out how to fly while he's at it? -edit As always thank you for the great chapter!!

I'm not sure how Axel could put Asha in charge of the Iron Islands in a way that would ensure she not only was respected and listened too, but would survive. Too many Ironborn would oppose her as either a woman or puppet ruler. I'd love to see it, but I have no idea how it would be done lol

I was really hoping he was going to make the Ironborn pay their iron price. This sounds like he's going to pussy out just like his father did and let them continue to exist. Would have been better to butcher the islands clean of Ironborn and make them into trade ports. They'd have far more value than letting them stay pirate havens.

Lady Reaper sounds like comic book character. By that I mean awesome. But he should probably marry her or something to solidify her rule.

Good to see Asha finally got that Good D she was craving. It's clear though that whatever Axel does, he's gonna make damn sure that the Ironborn won't get the slap on the wrist they got last time.

I kinda hoped that instead of Asha taking control of the Islands she would go back to kings landing as a 'hostage' aka the kings 3rd mistress. Not sure what would happen to the islands in that case though

Honestly, Ghengis Khan them. Wipe out all the nobility over the age of 10. Send the survivors to foster in the North. Give the seats of the extinct houses to second or third sons of Northern, Valean, Riverlander, or Dornish lords (make it clear reach, stormland, and westerlands are not eligible due to actions taken during Axel's early days as king) nobility. Then make Asha lady reaper but make it clear that her line must be tied to him and that their child will be raised in kings landing. Also make it clear that while she is lady reaper she will place her brother as Castellan to make sure her orders are followed as she will also be staying in kings landing. Make it clear to Theon just what his position is and if he is good he will get one of the larger isles as his seat. Wipe out drowned god faith. Behead and bury them deep inland to send a message. Only truly brutal action will end the ironborn culture as it stands. If not, they will just become a problem later. Unfortunately to get the change Axel may want in the ironborn, they will need to be brutalized and Axel can even rub salt in the would by telling them they are paying the iron price for their actions (price in their blood etc). Really cement in the culture a negative connotation to iron price so that they will instinctively distance themselves from it.

I really can't wait to see how Axel is going to solve the bigger issue of the Ironborn culture and how it has no place in a peaceful world...their entire mentality of pillaging and slavery as a way to survive on islands that have barely any arable land is just asking to have the Ironborn erased from existence in a bit of karmic justice, as their own Iron Price is applied. Personally, I hope for a path where the Ironborn are allowed to harness their so-called skills on behalf of the Seven Kingdoms...but anything they reave is considered Royal property and will bre redistributed as Axel or whomever he deems his governor for the Ironborn Islands sees fit. Certainty would encourage them to start learning how to legally obtain things or develop other skills to allow for open trade.

The Ironborn conundrum. Can't say I find the odds of Asha succeeding as Lady Reaper particularly likely even with (or perhaps in spite of) Axel's support. Not because I don't think she could hold her own but due to history and circumstance. There's too much bad blood, there isn't really any type of sustainable living to be had there without trade or plunder and both those options aren't really on the table and finally the probably resentment of the situation is going to be pointed Asha's way. Tough one.
