A/N: Axel is getting rather tired of the Iron Islands. Imagine his surprise when someone comes over from the mainland just to talk to him.

Damn, poor Tyrion shitting himself trying to talk to my man Axel. I have mixed thoughts on Tyrion, he was a little monster in the books, and they ruined him in the show by the end, but I loved his character before that. TFTC.

Finally the best master of coin is back

Ironwolfej

All hail the Imp! I'm fairly fond of Tyrion, and I always enjoy watching him get one over on Tywin. Tftc!

redhawktiger

Good chapter. Wonder what Tywins reaction to loosing out on a Valryian weapon will be though lol, especially if Axel ends up awarding Tyrion in the future with his own castle and ancestral weapon lol

Racenrise

Huh, i wonder if Tywin knows exactly how badly he pissed off axel with his slow marching stunt.

azul21

Im glad for tiryon i belive he can become a great ally and loyal servant for axel beside his family is horrible can't blame him for wanting to get away

TheSinful

Takes a special kind of spite to say no to not only getting your debt forgiven, but also get paid millions on top of it, in exchange for what amounts to a trinket (to you). But to be fair, fuck Tywin Lannister

Y. B. A.

I think this chapter proves beyond any doubt that Tywin is indeed Cersei's father. They both have a way of engineering their own downfall out of sheer spite. The old lion alienated his son so much that he (Tywin) ended up paying Axel to accept a double agent who's already turned on House Lannister by his side. What an epic failure lmao.

Bazuak

Is what happened to cersie a plot point or a nail in the coffin to get tywin executed?

Dericof D

I'm betting Tyrion will prove to King Axel that he can be the best Master of Coin that the kingdom needs right now, He will find most of Littledick's stashes of stolen gold, be able to turn the brothels into more respectable and profitable places, and maybe fixing the smell issue of King's Landing too. Is a shame that there will not be Tyrion/Bronn interactions in the next chapters.

KingDracula

Tywins hatred of his son completely clouds any logic or reason. People tend ro overrated his intelligence in general, but when Tyrion's involved Tywin tends to completely lose the big picture.

Sith2go

Tywin is really destroying the Lannisters long-term with this move. Since their gold mines have secretly run dry, their greatest source of income comes from the interest they can collect on the loans they gave out when they still had easy access to gold. This feels like Tywin has given up and is selling his houses future for short-term political gain.

Chainsword83

Yes, yes, this is good, do it.

Chainsword83

And here Tyrion is given what Tywin NEVER gave him; a chance. Axel is about to see that he's scored the most loyal, competent, and able Master of Coin possible. Oh what I'd give to be a fly on the wall when Tywin learns that by playing fuck-fuck games during Renly's Rebellion, he lost out on the chance to get Valyrian Steel. Besides having his blood on the Iron Throne, a Valyrian Steel ancestral blade is THE thing Tywin wants most in the world. And thanks to his own actions, trying to play both sides, he's not gonna get it. Bonus points if one of the looted weapons is Brightroar, and Axel returns it to TYRION, not TYWIN. You know what, I'd love it if by the time Axel is done, Tywin Lannister is not spoken of with fear for the Rains of Castamere, but with the same disdainful scorn as Walder Frey is held in. And of course then Tywin will do something stupid, proving that in some ways Cersei really IS Tywin Lannister with tits, and Axel will bring the Find Out when Tywin Fucks Around. EDIT: Just had a thought of how Tywin might Fuck Around and Find Out. Tywin has always struck out when trying to buy Valyrian Steel from other Houses. What if he tries it again with one of the people Axel awards Valyrian Steel to, and when they refuse Tywin tries to FORCE the matter? Going so far as to break the King's Peace on the sly? Axel finds out, and then he has all the cause he needs to make Tyrion the sole remaining male Lannister of Tywin's direct line.

Chainsword83

Not sure the mines are running dry in this story yet. If I recall correctly, that was only a thing in the show. In the books the mines were doing fine I think.

Son-Of-Scorn

I like Tyrion, depending on which version you choose to use, TV is good until he gets ruined but you can say that about a lot of characters, Book Tyrion is a monster but again you can say that about a lot of characters, either way I'm looking forward to your interpretation

Doug Bowman

Wonder how big of a sword you can make with a hold of valyrian steel. At least big enough to only need to hit a dragon once, but he's got a material good enough to actually make use of his biology, unlike regular steel.

Chainsword83

Ah but think of the Tyrion/Axel interactions.

Chainsword83

As long as Tywin didn't do something against the King's Law to Cersei, and quite frankly he could have a LOT done to her LEGALLY, there'd be no reason for Axel to come down on him over her. Tyrion certainly isn't going to raise a fuss for her sake.

Chainsword83

Tywin Lannister had a chance to prove himself a loyal and useful subject, and he used it to stab Axel in the back and try to play both sides by playing fuck-fuck games. There's no Jon Arryn anymore to urge caution, and Tywin has exactly ZERO real leverage over Axel as even if he hadn't forgiven the remaining debt then with Valyrian Steel to sell Axel could've easily made the money to pay him back. Axel said it plainly; the Valyrian Steel will be used to eliminate the debt and as rewards for LOYAL bannermen, and Tywin has proven himself disloyal.

Sith2go

Its hinted at several times in the books, but never outright stated.

Chainsword83

Ah. Haven't read the books, and frankly haven't REALLY watched the show, just enough of it to stay up to date on pop culture. Thank you for your answers. :)

Chainsword83

If he hasn't realized that yet, Tywin is even dumber than he normally is.

Chainsword83

As I recall the Silence is a BIG ship. If it's entire hold is FULL of Valyrian Steel, then we'd be talking a sword bigger than a house if all of it was turned into a single sword. Especially as Axel seemed to indicate that it wasn't JUST Valyrian Steel WEAPONS but also jewelry, tableware, and so on.

Sith2go

Its no problem, and honestly there are arguments for and against the mines being empty, especially since it has never been directly confirmed in the books.

Marcus_Aurelius

I'm wondering who else will land on the Small Council.

Kasikan

I'd personally name Tyrion Lord Paramount of the Westerlands just to spite Tywin and Cersei. Let her bastard get sent to the wall and her to death after Tywin finally kicks the bucket.

Alun Lewis

I really hope that my earlier suggestion of how Tyrion can get into Axel's good graces - nationalizing the whorehouses so they're revenue makers for the Crown and standardized to ensure quality - ends up happening...Tyrion is an experienced brothel aficionado and would easily improve on Littlefinger's less imaginative enterprises with them 😉

caleb marty

Tyrion is on the council, but he has not yet really been granted the rank of Master yet
