Did not see this turn of events coming at all. I was thinking she’d talk to her goddesses and have him allowed to be on the island and pay off the debt, not give up the crown and become a bodyguard.

I don’t remember the choice where the queen gives her crown and rule to Diana and become Lucien’s bodyguard. Would have not picked that one if it was there.

@Jazzmanstil I mean, the vote specifically said "Queen Hippolyta owes him a life debt whether Lucien likes it or not" lol. That was as clear a hint that Lucien might not enjoy having an Amazon Queen seriously indebted to him as I was willing to give.

The Amazons' patron goddeses are probably scrambling to decide who gets to confront both Hippolyta and Lucien over this mess...especially the former, due to the former queen deciding to forgo consulting them about having a life debt to a man before giving up her crown. I'm gonna gamble on Athena making the goddesses' collective displeasure known really soon.

Yep...totally expected some "honorable" BS like what happened here to happen...though I was kinda hoping Diana would ask to take on her mom's debt instead, citing some porker about not doing her due diligence to stop Lucien from "invading" Themiscyra because of being in his presence when she learned of Grail's attack on the island. Oh well...time to add a third generation of Amazonian royalty to his bedpost notch collection...eventually 😜

NGL, I probably would have immediately ordered her into Diana's service or as her advisor or bodyguard. And questioned her honor if she refused, because she swore to follow my orders and the first order I give is refused? That's not only unwilling that would be outright disobedient. And I would have no need for an immediately disobedient servant.

I mean, yeah, kinda. But also, the fact stands that now SHE is no longer allowed on Themyscyrra on account of being in a mans service. Which means, he would have made and absolute ass out of himself, because not only did he "force" the Queen to abdicate, he then also "forced" her previous subjects to punish their no no longer queen.

She doesn't have to be on Themyscira to be an Advisor. She can 100% Advise long range via real time communication. She could also float / fly or he could grant her flight to loophole her into "I'm not touching!" territory if bodyguard.
