A/N: Breakfast with her new friends~

-x-X-x-

Eve has breakfast ready for them when Myk-Zod and his lady friends finally disembark from their ship and join her in her kitchen. Using her powers she’s made a full feast, cooking up eggs and bacon and toast along with stacks of pancakes. She’s even prepared a fruit salad along with two big pots of coffee made from freshly ground coffee beans.

The smile on Myk-Zod’s face as he takes it all in makes her efforts completely worth it while also causing something in Eve’s chest to flutter a little bit. She fights back against that sensation however, knowing full well that she doesn’t have a chance with the extremely powerful, extremely handsome alien man.

Never mind that he’d carried her from the Moon back to Earth at rapid speeds. Never mind that he’d helped her stop Mark and his father from almost certainly conquering the planet. And never mind that he’d saved her life again just a day ago when he and his companions had finally officially arrived on Earth.

Eve wasn’t stupid. She could read between the lines easily enough. Myk-Zod was in a relationship with the blonde Raven at an absolute minimum… and he might very well have been in a relationship with the red head Sarah as well.

At the very least, the three of them were a tight knit unit that Eve didn’t have a hope of breaking into… nor did she want to risk breaking them up either. Her own feelings aside, it would be disastrous for Earth if she went the route of alien homewrecker and made either of them leave the planet early. The Viltrumites probably were returning and they needed Myk-Zod present when that time arrived.

All of this and more flashes through Eve’s mind as the trio takes in the food she’s prepared. Hopefully none of it shows on her face though, even as she forces a smile and gestures broadly.

“Please have a seat and dig in. I hope it’s all to your liking!”

Giving her a warm look, Myk-Zod proceeds to do exactly that.

“I’m sure it will be, Eve. Thank you for your hard work.”

As he takes his first bite, his eyes light up and he begins to ferociously attack the plate in front of him. Sarah and Raven also begin to eat, albeit at a more measured pace… though it’s clear they’re finding no fault in her cooking as well.

Feeling no small measure of relief, Eve finally takes her own seat and begins to eat. A companionable silence falls over the table for a little bit while they all chow down, with Eve trying to think of a way to make small talk without making things awkward. But… for as grateful as she was to Myk-Zod, what in the world could she even talk about with him that wasn’t something borderline world-ending?

… There isn’t much. They don’t know each other very closely yet, do they? In the end…

“I was going to go on patrol in an hour or two, check on the nearby city and then see if there was anything further afield that needed my attention. Would any of you maybe like to join me?”

Obviously Eve is hoping Myk-Zod will be the one to offer. It would give her a bit more time to get to know him. Not because she wants to seduce him or anything like that! She just… she wants to get a little closer to her savior, that’s all.

Alas, before he can reply, Raven cuts in.

“I will.”

Her words slice through the air like a knife, her gaze fixed on Eve with such intensity that the red head freezes up for a moment. It’s like the blonde can see right through her… or rather, it’s like she thinks she can. Perhaps she thinks Eve is trying to ‘steal her man’ or something.

Breaking eye contact after a moment, Raven’s gaze slides over to Myk-Zod as he finishes chewing and sets his utensils down.

“My lover is more scholar than warrior anyways. He is far more at home in a laboratory than on a battlefield. And he has things he wants to accomplish here that I would not see him pulled away from.”

Sliding her gaze back to Eve, Raven smiles a smile that doesn’t quite reach her eyes.

“I, meanwhile, am somewhat more martially inclined. So I will come with you today and help you in setting your fractured world to rights.”

Eve slowly blinks, processing Raven’s explanation. First and foremost, the blonde had NOT shied away from calling Myk-Zod her lover… and he wasn’t in any way protesting the title either. That was about as clear-cut a claim staking as Eve had ever heard, that was for sure.

As for the rest… Myk-Zod wasn’t a warrior? He was a scientist first? After everything she’d seen him do… he’d handled Nolan and Mark like they were children. Eve can’t help the shiver that runs down her spine as she considers what the difference between Raven and Myk-Zod might be if Raven is the more martially inclined of the two.

In the end though… Myk-Zod doesn’t voice any sort of concerns over Raven’s words. He stays quiet, showing his tacit approval and agreement with everything the severe-looking blonde has said. So… it looks like Eve and Raven are going to be the ones ‘getting to know each other’ today. Eve tries not to smile too awkwardly as she nods to Raven.

“O-Of course. I’d be happy to have you with me today.”

Then, she glances over at Sarah.

“Um… do you want to join us too?”

Sarah shares a silent look with the others for a moment before shaking her head.

“I’ll be helping Myk-Zod with his research today. Hopefully you won’t have need of my services but if there’s an emergency you can call for us and he can fly me over.”

Right. Yes. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that, though Sarah’s nonlethal take down of the Mauler Twins had been the stuff of legends. What Eve wouldn’t give to have psychic powers that let her force the bad guys to surrender at the drop of a hat…

Regardless, with things decided, all that’s left is to finish breakfast and get ready to go. As promised, Eve finds herself joined by Raven in short order, the other woman changing into a slimming jumpsuit that hugs her curves perfectly.

Rising into the air, Eve tries not to stare too much… not to mention doing her best to tamp down on her jealousy. Some women had all the luck and while she herself certainly wasn’t unlucky in that department, she couldn't hold a candle to Raven Darkholme…

As they fly away from Eve’s forest abode and the alien ship parked next to it, she glances over at Raven and licks her lips.

“So… is it strange being on an alien planet like this? Or do you guys travel around a lot?”

Raven tilts her head, looking at Eve consideringly for a long moment… and for a split second Eve thinks that the other woman might stonewall her. God, if she finds herself getting mean girl’d all day long, she might just scream.

But then… Raven smirks.

“In some ways we have just started out on our travels. In others, we have been to more places than I could ever have imagined going.”

That was a little bit vague but luckily Raven isn’t done.

“Still, this world does not feel particularly strange to me. At least in some ways. You humans look so similar to us, after all.”

They did, didn’t they? Eve can’t help herself now that Raven has brought it up.

“Yeah! What’s up with that anyways?! Do you think you guys share some sort of distant ancestry with Earth or something? Are humans the diluted descendants of your people from tens of thousands of years ago?!”

Raven arches an amused brow and shakes her head.

“I don’t know. Those are questions you should consider asking Myk-Zod. He might be willing to run some tests once he’s done with his current work.”

For a moment Eve is tempted to ask what that ‘current work’ even is… but she feels like that would make things awkward just when she actually feels like she’s getting somewhere with Raven. Like maybe they’re actually breaking the ice or something.

Fortunately they arrive at the city a few seconds later and Eve can focus on the matter at hand. Chicago has certainly seen better days, especially when it was where Mark and his father had started their rampage. And then the place had suffered numerous villain attacks once they were kicked off planet.

Regardless, she and Raven fly around putting out both proverbial and literal fires for a little while… and Eve finds it shocking just how easy the job is with a competent, no-nonsense partner by her side. Really, the only thing she had to do when it came to Raven was tell the woman when to hold back.

“Don’t kill them! Let the police arrest them and lock them up… they’ll get their day in court.”

Raven had just tilted her head to the side and let the bank robber she’d been holding by the throat drop to the ground. Having utterly demolished the rest of the armed goons, she’d simply crossed her arms over her chest and nodded.

“Very well. Your planet, your rules.”

Eve almost got the impression that Raven had been waiting to be told to rein it in… and that left her wondering what the alien woman might have done if Eve hadn’t spoken up. She’d be lying if she said part of her wasn’t thinking about it. That maybe these pathetic pieces of trash who were taking advantage of Earth’s darkest hour didn’t deserve to keep breathing anymore.

But no… she was a hero. Frankly, after how many had been killed by Omni-Man and Mark, she was very nearly the hero at this point. There were others sure, but none who were able to keep going as long and as hard as she was. None who could do everything she could do…

“Let’s take a break.”

It’s late afternoon when Raven finally bids them stop. They’ve long since moved on from Chicago and made their way across the Americas and even across the ocean to Europe. With GDA in her ear, Eve is able to direct them to problem areas where their assistance is requested. And obviously Donald is more than happy to make use of Raven’s power while the alien woman is offering her assistance.

Still… Eve is feeling the effects of the long day by the time Raven calls for a break. She’s just pretty sure that the blonde isn’t. Raven looks completely and utterly unfazed when she glances over at her, not a hair out of place nor a bead of sweat on her brow. This entire day of saving lives, taking down villains, and stopping disasters… literally hasn’t made her break a sweat.

“Y-Yeah… I guess we can take a breather. Um… wanna grab a bite to eat maybe?”

Raven inclines her head.

“That does seem like the right call, yes. Lead the way.”

Eve bites her lower lip and then leads Raven to a nearby Italian bistro. Literally, given they’re currently in Italy. As soon as they’re seen, the bistro’s owners fall all over themselves to serve them, with Raven speaking perfect Italian to the couple, much to Eve’s open mouthed shock.

“They will bring us food shortly.”

“S-Since when do you know Italian?!”

Looking over at her, Raven smirks in amusement.

“We’ve spoken enough about me today, I would say. I’d rather speak about you… and your intentions towards my lover.”

Eve freezes up just as cups of tea are being set down in front of them. Raven stirs a bit of honey into hers while looking her right in the eye.

“I am not blind to your desires. I see quite clearly that you are attracted to Myk-Zod.”

Swallowing hard, Eve forces herself to speak.

“I… I can’t deny it, but I swear I would never act on it. I promise, I’m not trying to get between the two of you or anything like-!”

“And why ever not?”

A record scratch goes off in Eve’s head.

“… What?”

Bringing the cup to her lips, Raven sips delicately, as though she’s been to Italy and sipping tea outside of a bistro a million times before. Then, setting the cup back down, she tilts her head to the side quizzically.

“Why would you not act on your feelings for my lover? Why would you not try to get between the two of us when we would both enjoy having you there?”

Eve’s eyes widen and her face goes almost as red as her hair as she damn near chokes on her own tongue at that mental image.

“Y-You… I-I…”

“Sarah thoroughly enjoys her time ‘between’ us, for instance. We added her to our bed only recently, comparatively speaking, but she already feels like she belongs there. I believe you would also come to belong just as easily… my man is quite the welcoming one, after all.”

Was… was she seriously being scouted for what sounded like an alien harem?! No, more than that… was she actually considering this?!

The food arrives while Eve sits there, stunned into silence. Raven leaves her plate untouched for a moment as she looks at Eve with a smoldering gaze.

“There’s just one problem from where I’m sitting, really.”

Blinking, Even furrows her brow.

“What… what problem would that be?”

Raven leans forward, a sudden predatory glint in her eye.

“I don’t mind sharing… but I’m also quite possessive. I would gladly welcome you into our bed and so would Sarah and Myk-Zod. However, what comes after that? What happens when inevitably, one day in the future… we leave?”

… Oh.

I'd like to see Eve actively say (maybe by accident) that all that's keeping her here is duty... but she is very firm on that. She has no real connection to her family from what I remember and a lot of BAD memories... maybe jokingly say if world peace happens she's jump at the chance lol. Raven would think "hmmm... a bit much but... she IS hot..."

It will be interesting to see what Eve thinks of what Raven really looks like.

"Wait a second... I'm starting to see a pattern here."

Personally I think Mystique will respect Eve more for not giving out a quick or easy answer.

As much as i dig yuri within a harem i seriously think at this point its mystiques harem. Myk at this point is just the dessert admist the banquet. Like yeah idk there are feelings between myk and the girls but maybe im not just following properly it feels like theres more romantic moments between the sarah and mystique than myk and either of them. Maybe im tripping its hot and im still enjoying the story i just feel our mc isnt really mc'ing.
