I'm still largely struggling with really liking the colour work that I've been doing over the last while. This is all internal of course, and something nearly any artist, musician, writer or creative goes through I'm told. But I'm trying to break a habit of mine that keeps pushing me towards 'if it isn't perfect, it's not worth showing'.

So I'm posting this work in progress. It's mistakes, it's weird bits that need to be fixed, everything. It's partly to show myself as much as anyone that it's a process. This is far from finished, but it is progress on the painting I'll be doing this month.

Pan is one of those characters I don't talk about all that much. I'm trying to figure out how to put her into context and still trying to figure out her whole life's story. Some characters are harder to 'see' than others, and she's proving to be tricky at times when it comes to what her actual life looks like.

But at least here, there can be a snippet. One of her eating lunch, with a friend in the background, waiting for the evening to draw closer, and her set to begin.

Little steps of progress, each time. I've finally been able to work for several days without emergencies suddenly exploding onto the scene. A cycle of one day on a painting/sketch, one day on a Patron sketch, and one day on a commission seems to work well in keeping pace now. And once all of the mad life-things die down, I'll have extra time to blend in other works.

I think this is healthy. Is this healthy? I actually have no clue. But it feels better than the pace I had before.

Tim, this is gorgeously done! I know you see where you could have done this or that differently, but none of us see that. We see an amazing piece of art done by someone who's overcome so much. The coloring and line work are superb 😊

Always a joy to see your work in every stage of the process. It sounds like you're finding a flow that's working for ya, glad to hear it!
