First, I'd like to apologize for being so quiet lately. As noted in a previous journal here, I've been having some health problems. Unfortunately those health problems are persisting, and I'll be on to the next stage of figuring out what it is that's going on. My chemistry is just fine, but my body is failing somewhere, so for the foreseeable I'll be bouncing around the landscape of specialists and educated people who I have to convince that 'this is not just anxiety'. There used to be a time when 'anxiety' was something doctors didn't believe, now, it seems to be the one blanket thing they like to use for every ailment.

However, I've had to make some moves to make the ability to draw more bearable. Namely I've had to buy an (expensive) way to be able to draw while not seated hunched over at a desk. This hopefully means I can find more comfortable places and positions to rest in while I dot away and artwork. I'm woefully behind, and my real hope is that this allows me to still connect artistically. It has positively sucked not being able to sketch at things through all of this.

I'm working to stay as healthy as possible. I've set an eye on some weight sets as well, and spinal column willing, I can keep active. So far there isn't pain (outside of twinges when repositioning), so it means I can keep doing more active things.

That said, I wanted to finish the sketch of the hobgoblins I did earlier. I sort of become fond of these green-ass lunatics. I kind of wanted them to harken back to the Bakshi LOTR films without the rotoscoping. Just terrible things to meet in dark corridors and unlit mausoleums.

The 'undead' looking one is a void-howler. They aren't actually undead, just 'chosen' as conduit gateways between the void between stars, and the living world. They themselves don't tend to lash out unless directly poked at, but they have an aura that saps life away from anyone near them, and there's a chance ending the suffering of one of these creatures unleashes a horror from the void to 'pass through the conduit'.

The next sketches will be a little more happy themed. Pony themed in one instance. I wasn't able to get some of the holiday images I wanted to get done, simply due to the health things, but I can still do wintery things with lights and whatnot.

Ponies in hats, socks, and little else, etc.

Until then, stay healthy. May all your hams be well baked.

Perfesser Bear

These guys are beautifully executed (methinks they'd be beautifuller thoroughly executed) and Halloweeny creepy. The lightning handler scares the bejunior out of me (having been struck by lightning years ago).
