Quite an eventful episode to be sure. The primary part being the curing of Dean. You and I both clocked this would mean needles at approximately the same time. I wasn’t any happier about that than you were. When Dean said that Sam knows how much he hates shots, upon your saying, “Me too.” I chimed in with, “Me three, that’s what having one practically every night for six and a half years straight will do to a man.” Thankfully, it didn’t feel as bad as occasions in the past. Save for the one sudden cut to the close-up of the needle, you and I both yelled, “OK!!” in displeasure. And whilst you said, “That was unnecessary!” I yelled, “That was NOT call- you fucking give a man a goddamn warning before you do something like that! Jesus Christ!” I too enjoyed the further context of the earlier scenes. I know Dean was trying to break Sam by talking about that waste of skin, Lester, the thing is that considering some of the shit Dean’s pulled, I doubt he has much of a moral high ground. I don’t disagree with him calling out his and Sam’s father. After all, John messed them up something fierce. Which is why it’s great that the boys had their dad, and I loved seeing your reactions to the scenes with the picture of the boys with their dad. You get me right in the heart with your love for Bobby, Jess. Good catch on how Dean got loose, leading to Dean being quite Clue as you said. Stalking Sam. In the Bunker. With a hammer. Jack Nicholson-Style. It is interesting seeing Hannah contend with FEELINGS as Crowley venomously called them. Speaking of our dear King of Hell, he’s having a time what with the demons wanting to be his wingman, and the self-immolations. A fantastic moment when he kills the rogue angel and gives her grace to Castiel, all whilst saying, essentially, “Come now. Make Mummy happy and drink it all up like a good boy.” leading to Castiel coming through. It seems he’s back to “Dean-Dean. Not like Demon-Dean. But Dean-Dean.” as you rather delightfully described. Not sure I concur about him no longer being mean, as he’s plenty mean sometimes. Of course, things won’t be all flowers and bunnies. Among other things, we still have the Mark of old brother Cain to contend with. But like Sam said, and you didn’t begrudge his viewpoint, “I can’t think about that right now. I’ll think about that tomorrow. For now, I’m going to stuff food into Dean, then go pickle my liver for a couple of days.” As to Castiel raising your anxiety, to be fair to Castiel, though he does now possess knowledge of all media, he still has much to learn about certain tropes. One of them, in this instance, happens to be tempting fate by saying that things are quiet in a show such as this. Other observations. Loved your concern over the spilled coffee, even if it is gas station coffee. Any spilled coffee is a terrible thing, gas station or otherwise. Unless it’s decaf, of course. Then there was your most paramount concern. The state of the pie, and the question of did Dean eat the aforementioned pie. First, when you asked, “How old is that pie?” probably quite old, I would imagine. Knowing how much of a human garbage can Dean is, I’d suspect you’d find half-eaten sandwiches under his mattress, and he’d say, “Hey! There’s my tuna on rye! I’ve been looking all over for that!” He’d also probably have spoiled milk in his fridge and upon pouring a glass with chunks in it, he’d give it a sniff, say, “Smells all right.” and proceed to drink it. I would share your hope that Dean didn’t touch the pie. And as mentioned, Sam was making a food run for Dean; probably get him a sack or two of White Castles for him to gorge on. Which, given Dean’s age, would probably be horrifically unhealthy, though I’m not one to judge. Thank you for the lovely reaction, Jess.
