Thank you for a wonderful reaction to this story. It wasn't one of my favourites by a long way but you always have a way of seeing what is good about a story, analysing themes & character motives as well as appreciating the humour and darker moments. As a result, I'm liking it a lot more now. I think Adrics willingness to be suckered into The Monarch's ways possibly comes from his almost unemotional dedication to science combined with his youth, which probably creates a measure of naivety. I also like the way the Fifth Doctor is able to steer him in the right direction, with a few stern words. I love how Adrics opinion was the complete opposite of Tegan, who flew off the handle and made a very rash decision, showing her very human characteristics. Have a fab holiday & see you in the next reaction!

I think perhaps one of the reasons people don't like adric that much is his willingness to side with the enemy

Looking to the next with a certain amount of trepidation.

Just wondering if Jess has ever seen The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan? Might be worth her checking the series out recalling that it is only 17 episodes and was shot in and around Portmeirion, the Italianate fantasy village in Wales where the Tom Baker serial The Masque Of Mandragora had it's location scenes. I've often wondered over the years as to whether Jess had seen it.
