Responding to your statement, “A Charlie episode! After a Bobby episode! They’re giving this season.” Yes, Jess, yes, they are. Talk about the new villains. As a man whom, as you are familiar, Jess, loves the villains with a great passion, introducing a new villain by having them fight and shoot Charlie is NOT a way to get me to like them. Props to Charlie, though, she put in the work in getting that book. You get Dean holding onto the idea that the cure is in sight and wants Sam to be more cheerful about it. I’m on Sam’s side of being cautiously optimistic whilst also wishing Dean would change things up with his choice of music. Of course, who am I to talk on that one? It ultimately is great for Dean being honest about how he needs to be as far from the book as possible. He really has that vacation as an end goal, which makes me say, “Ok, but NO pay-per-porn, Dean, especially not in a hotel. That’s a really goddamn stupid thing to do.” The new villains do prove to be tough sumbitches, to an extent that I’m disappointed in Dean for his shooting the guys in the chest, and I’m yelling, “Head. Head! HEAD, Dean!! HEAD!!!” The emotional highlight of the reaction was Charlie and Sam’s talk. Hoo boy, you got me good, Jess. Lovely how Felicia continues to be so wonderful as the kind soul that is Charlie, and Jared, like you said, nailed that scene. Bringing us to what I assume is a contentious point of the episode: Sam pulling the old swappy-swap as you called it. I share your view of you get exactly why he did it. You don’t entirely know what you would do in that scenario. Here’s my question: Could the book even have been destroyed even if Sam wanted to? In any event, he pulled the swappy-swap, Rowena is now in the mix, which spices things up. Now to the Castiel and Booger (Sorry, Metatron.) part of the episode. It continues to be a delight how you are so fucking done with Metatron, and how you will always be so fucking done in Metatron. You mention how you don’t give him a minute’s fucking consideration with anything he says. You take some of what he says seriously. Villains often raise salient points. And salient points though they may well be, this does not make the villain right. Not all the time, anyway. Metatron would be into Alanis for the obvious joke. I can’t drive so when I watch scenes of people in cars, it’s always hard to put myself in the driver’s seat part of things. This episode, it’s easy to see myself in Castiel’s place, saying, “Shut the fuck up already.” and when Metatron persists even after getting decked, I’d be more emphatic, “Shut the FUCK UP. Or I’ll throw you back in the trunk. You know?” The scene with the waffles, you want to gag him, though I’m also distracted by how he has the waffles, whipped cream, and fruit all piled on top of each other, which is a texture and flavor nightmare. LOVED your reaction to Castiel getting his mojo back. Better still, how it’s all Metatron’s fault by giving Castiel all pop-culture knowledge, allowing Castiel to put two and two together as to where his mojo was. Shame that Metatron gets away with the demon tablet. I still do live for Curtis being fantastic, even if Metatron is hateful. My brother has not seen much of this show, and none of Curtis in this. I have mentioned how it is the thing of the Curtis delivers with making the character as loathsome as possible, that my brother is genuinely interested in seeing Curtis be great if nothing else. Nice of Castiel to take care of Charlie’s bullet wound and carpal tunnel. Much though I share that desire, curing anxiety, alas, Jess, I think that’s too intricate a tangled web for Castiel to cure, so we’re shit out of luck there. Lovely little thing of the pizza night. Hopefully with some good pepperoni and black olives, Canadian bacon, and/or PLENTY of anchovies, it would be perfect. Well, actually it would be perfect if Bobby was there. Rufus too. Get Jody as well. I did correct the boys when they told Charlie about the cabin, when they said it was their friend Bobby’s, I got a little angry, saying, “Boys, that man is your dad.” All in all, a lovely reaction, that I enjoyed very much. Thanks, Jess.
