Thank you for a really amazing reaction. This story is, without doubt, highly memorable for so many reasons. I think one of the aspects which stands out to me is that the Doctor saved Earth and the Brigadier so many times & in this story, the Brigadier gets to save the Doctor. The whole story wraps up so nicely. This was the first time I technically got to know the Brigadier as a character. I was vaguely aware of him but would have been too young to remember him in 3's era. So we end this with a new companion & a far from unresolved issue! See you next time!

It’s sort of like the line in The Name of the Doctor, “How many times have you saved me, Clara? Just this once, just for the hell of it, let me save you.” only it’s our old Brig who gets to have that sort of moment. It is indeed a sweet thing.

I forget whether we knew at the time that Nick was returning. JNT was very good at keeping such things a secret, despite the arcane eye of Doctor Who Monthly. It was certainly cheering to see him again. My own personal favourite, though, is the second story following. This one rather passed me by at the time, despite the reappearance of Nicholas Courtney. Rewatching gives me a different appreciation of it though, for me, it still isn't a highlight. I suppose that I was also hankering after some more of Sapphire and Steel, within which David Collings - here as Mawdryn - played the time agent Silver. I suppose my bias preference for him in that role counted against seeing him in this one.

Indeed yes! This story has grown on me enormously since I first watched it.
