"You are a Time Lord. A lord of time. Are there lords in such a small domain?", Striker, "Enlightenment" It's an interesting story setup. I'm reminded of the steamer sequence from "Carnival of Monsters", where we think we're just in a simple adventure on Earth with some chickens, until the writers suddenly switch the scenario out from under us. It also reminds me of "The War Games" because humans have been taken out of their own time as pawns in an alien project. This was the first Classic Who story to have been both written and directed by women. Barbara Clegg was a Who fan along with her children. BTW: we would have to wait for a while for the next story from both a female writer and female director - that would be Jodie's "The Witchfinders" 35-years later! Oh my - the white guardian has a chicken on his head! Cyril Luckham was the original white guardian from "The Ribos Operation" (I miss Romana I and K9) just as Valentine Dyall had been the Black Guardian at the end of the "Key to Time" series. "No, I need someone I can rely on. It's important.", "Someone who doesn't run away.", The Doctor and Tegan, "Enlightenment" Ow! Tegan is just great! But she goes through some creepy (Marriner!) stuff in this one - the intro with his face in the TARDIS scanner; and then all her stuff in the room and especially the photo of her aunt. (BTW: that was another original actor who was brought in for this story - so they could make the photograph). Peter Sallis (we saw him in "The Ice Warriors") was originally signed on to play Striker but schedules changed so they cast Keith Barron instead. I'm intrigued how Peter would have played it. "Brave heart, Tegan.", The Doctor, "Enlightenment"
