It's around here where you really start to see Moffat's point on why he'd never cared much for the Master as a kid, since it just gets silly how he's soundly defeated time and again, and still keeps bragging that the Doctor can't possibly stop him this time. This one also has the disadvantage of Anthony Ainley being plainly recognizable under the makeup, and not even changing his voice much, as if the anagram name wasn't enough. Now I kind of want to see a story where the Doctor's completely shocked to learn the true identity of Alucard.

Kameleon subsequently got stuck in the form of a hatstand and was never mentioned again.

Yes Jess!!!! You have finally met my favourite (and certainly most original) character in all of 'Doctor Who'.....Kamelion!!! Every reactor to Classic Who (even those that are fond of mocking the old school production values) is amazed when they first see him. No one has ever ridiculed Kamelion for looking dated/cheap/pathetic.... he still mesmerises audiences all these years later and that's because his look and design is so wonderfully sleek and striking. At Longleat back in 1983, I stood in awe as a six year old, gazing at Kamelion as he sat on the throne playing the lute in the sets and props tent. I also love that you are so fond of Turlough as I am!! 99% of people just go on about Tegan and never mention Turlough. How anyone can prefer that miserable old drac is beyond me. She's always got the hump.

He has been mentioned every day since 1983 in my household and is still revered!

Thanks for another great reaction. The story itself is so so, but I do love the concept of Kamelion. It's funny. The Master shows up back in Earth's history, disguises himself very badly as a French Nobleman & thinks 'hmm, what sort of fu**ery can I cause here? Was incredibly small fry for him lol! I knew you'd suss his disguise out. I was waiting for that look of cynicism when his 'character' was focussed on & we got that practically within the first couple of scenes! See you next time!

Legend has it that Turlough's exasperated (and so over it) "I DIDN'T DO IT!" was an early inspiration for Shaggy's seminal classic "It Wasn't Me".

More? More now? Gimme? I need?

I must have got the release order of the stories mixed up because I was expecting "The Special" to be today's release. From your comments, you will be watching the originally aired version. The story has been broken up into four standard parts for syndication purposes, but I prefer the originally aired version.

Exchange of dialogue from the novelization of an unspecified story: "The Master with a Greek accent? How could I forget?" "You should hear his French." "The King's Demons" is an odd for me. Whenever I actually sit down and watch, I find it enjoyable enough. But it's one of those stories that I never really experience a strong desire to sit down and watch.

Also, fun fact: the guy you say "brings the drama"? Also played Professor Moorhouse in "Mummy on the Orient Express". :-)
