Some fans suspect that there were originally some major plans for Sam’s relationship with Amelia which were then changed on the fly when everyone hated her so much, so this storyline with the three trials was created instead. I’ve heard worse explanations.

An interesting episode. I liked you got invested in Dean setting up his room and how happy Dean was about it. It also warmed the heart a little bit seeing your concern for Kevin. Like you said, he is most determined to solve the problem, but it would be nice for him to look after himself whilst doing so. Of course, considering how bad I am with self-care I seriously doubt I’d be able to offer much in the way of helpful and/or supportive advice. I’ve gone through LONG stretches of just subsisting on coffee, alcohol, and self-loathing. Not particularly proud of it. But yes, it would be most beneficial for Kevin to take a breather, go out and get some fresh air. Some orange juice wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for poor Kevin. Maybe a little apple juice as a sort of treat. That usually helps a lot. On the one plot point, it does make sense that Crowley would sign up many people’s souls during a visit. The man does like getting a bang for his buck after all. I got so suspicious of the one lady with her being as blunt and forward as she was with Dean. I know you commented on it yourself. In my experience, I have never seen anybody be THAT forward, so alarm bells went off on that one. The scenes with Dean and Sam were emotional. It was a memorable part of the reaction when it got to you, Dean saying that his happy ending would be Sam having a happy ending. One unspoken part of it all is there’s the big brotherly concern and protective nature, I feel. Dean’s ok with laying his life down so that his little brother can live his life. Similarly, the emotion is strong when Sam has his speech that Dean is better than he claims. And how that got you too, made me cry some. Both scenes were pretty easy to project my brother and I on. I would get pulled out of it though at the mention of Dean’s perfect ending for Sam being “living until you’re fat, bald, and chugging Viagra.” at which point, I’d chime in with, “I already got a sizeable head start on the first two, asshole, and I’m not even forty yet.” Like I said, Jess, your reactions to the Dean and Sam scenes got me. This was a lovely reaction, thank you.
