So now you have the full context for Mon Mothma's story in Andor, with her growing increasingly skeptical of how much good her role in the Senate can do, and presumably it's going to culminate with the Ghorman massacre finally driving her to openly denounce Palpatine and lead into this episode. It was first mentioned in a tie-in book with Rogue One, which reveals that Palpatine landed his Star Destroyer right on top of a protesting crowd, though it's also said to have happened much earlier than implied here, which Filoni has never elaborated on. Also a nice little touch that this new rebel base is on Dantooine, meaning it's the one Leia will use to distract Tarkin after it's been abandoned for their new one on Yavin.

There is a thought that I’ve heard that there are multiple Ghorman massacres, and the one in Rebels and potentially Andor will be one where Tarkin goes above and beyond with the cruelty and wanton destrction. Which, knowing old Wilhuff, that will be a sight to behold. Yes, a great nod to the “They’re on Dantooine.” scene.

I also got emotional at the end with Mon's speech. You may notice two characters in this episode, "Switch to... targeting computer..." Gold leader here is that same Y Wing pilot as in A New Hope. Plus you can see General Dodonna(beard guy) with Bail Organa. Between watching your reactions to these EXCELLENT Season 3 episodes and watching Ahsoka for the past 2 weeks, my Star Wars soul is so enriched right now.
