After it became clear just how much the Ahsoka series would directly tie in to this show, it became a popular joke on social media to pretend you'd just started it, and say you were looking forward to seeing who was cast as the live action Kanan since he was weirdly absent from the trailers. And I admit I did a bit of it myself. Yeah, pretty much no one saw this one coming from the "kiddified" Disney show which until now had stood in stark contrast to the bloodbath of Clone Wars. And of course it also leaves the door open that anyone else could buy it in the remaining few episodes, a classic storytelling technique for a reason.

This link takes you to the wrong video. Sorry I commented on the cut down version, it’s this full version I was talking about :)

I did see a few jokes about that concerning Kanan. My brother and my sister in-law, despite my advice, got impatient and watched Ahsoka without seeing the animated shows, then again, they didn’t inquire too much about Kanan. His death here does mean all bets were off for the rest of the cast, though ironically, I was most worried about Zeb, and for Jess, she knew from close to the beginning that he’s guaranteed to be safe.
