"They're only economy class. What's all the fuss about?", Rigg, "Nightmare of Eden" It is a dark topic and there's some black humor, and sometimes over-the-top Tom acting, and an weird monster design - it's better that is should be. It's certainly a lot better than the production felt. As mentioned last time, this wasn't a happy time and the director was in over his head. The director eventually resigned and the series producer finished the filming. A quote from one of the crew was "[it was] without doubt, the most disastrous Doctor Who I've ever been involved in". So much that the producer and script editor both decided to leave at the end of the season. (pointing) "Let's go east!", "How do you know which way is east?", "Well I don't. We'll go that way and we'll call it east.", "Why not call it north?", "All right, we'll call it north!", The Doctor and Romana, "Nightmare of Eden" There's something that sounds very Hitchhiker's here - very Adams - "Why not call it a rock?". "I'm going inside now and I may be rather a long time", The Doctor, "Nightmare of Eden" is a reference to Captain Oates's final words in the ill-fated Scott expedition to Antarctica. According to Scott's diary, frostbitten and starving, Oates left the tent he said "I am just going outside and may be some time.". "I'm relieved the nightmare is over.", Della, "Nightmare of Eden" It was a nightmare. After the story wrapped, crew members got T-shirts quoting Della: "I'm relieved the nightmare is over."
