“Well, a LOT happened in this episode! Oh, my goodness!” indeed. Nice to see you were happy to see Luciana again. Yeah, it got messy when Charlie returned, and Madison learned of what she did to Nick. The show coming back to that plotline hit me. I got lost in recollections about that myself. Specifically, how long it’s been. I even had to shake myself out of it some. I was saying, “God, that was five and a half years ago now... Five and a half years... ...Where the hell was I? Oh. Yeah. Right.” I like Strand defending his not saying anything about that as he thought she was dead, ergo he felt there was no reason to mention it, and he apologizes for not doing so. After hearing your excellent analysis of the whole Negan and Maggie discourse, I knew you would likely tackle what Madison and Charlie go through here with equal excellence. And yes, I shared your thoughts on Charlie, and I shared your assessment of you get exactly where Madison’s head space is concerning Charlie, and why she makes Charlie attempt to assassinate Troy. I observed that if even Strand is given pause over Madison’s decision, knowing how flexible he is, morality-wise, that says something. Similar to what you said of you don’t think it will end well, but it hits you with the shock when Charlie made the decision she made. And that got me, Jess, your shock at that moment. I think it made me cry even more than if you had a more overt cry yourself. Rubén breaks the heart when he sells Daniel’s own heartbreak. He’s entitled to wring Troy’s neck. I confess being a bit mean to Troy when he panics about his kid, by saying, “He doesn’t exactly do a sterling job at keeping an eye on his kid, does he?” Like the Madison and Charlie interactions, I’m with you on not holding any ill will towards Daniel when he unloads on Madison. As you said, you remember what happened to Ophelia, and now he’s lost Charlie. Hard, too, to even say he’s altogether incorrect in what he says to Madison. And now, she leaves PADRE in the hands of Strand. A fantastic reaction. One that had most excellent moments and analysis, Jess, and I thank you for all of it.
