Quite the penultimate episode of the show. I share your thoughts on Troy. You get everyone’s perspective. Like Daniel said, we don’t know that we can fully trust him. Setting aside Daniel’s desire for revenge against Troy, hearing someone say they’ve changed and believing it are two separate things. It’s like the whole Negan and Maggie thing; just because others have accepted that someone has changed, it doesn’t mean the person that was grievously hurt is going to accept that. By contrast, Strand has benefited from eleventh chances at this point, thus he’s more in favor of trying to see the genuine good in Troy, even if it isn’t there. I liked too how Frank stood up for Strand. Troy’s motive rant as to why his reasoning for his actions concerning Alicia, I hear it, and think, “Seems more like a “you” problem there, buddy.” Of course, as you posit, you understand why he has the thought that he has. Yeah, I knew Troy would die by the end of the episode. I mean, you did see that big branch sticking out of him. I’m surprised he didn’t bleed out as soon as Madison pulled it out of him. Even so, his death was a jolt, and I loved your reaction to it. Likewise, your reaction to his dropping the bombshell was most excellent. That bombshell would have James Earl Jones saying, “He’s lying.” Then again, James did say the same about the famous Darth Vader twist when he was informed about it, so... and you do have one more episode. The major highlight of the reaction was when we had the infelicitous return of Crane into our lives. The fates are too cruel in this instance. When you asked, “Who asked for THIS guy to come back? Ha-ha-ha-ha! It wasn’t me. Was it you?” Not me, Jess; I was just as most seriously displeased about his return as you were. I saw him again, the blood boiled, and I went, “Oh, joy. The whilom fuckwit-in-chief of PADRE’s back. Swell.” He quickly ignited the fury in me again as well. When he declared himself PADRE, I groused, “Oh, don’t come over all fucking Spartacus on us now.” Though, yes, there is something most beautiful about rooting for characters you loathe to have an horrific demise, Shrike and Crane were bad enough, you start getting impatient for it to happen. In my case, they struck some VERY personal nerves. I shared with you talking shit about Shrike when Crane accused Madison of just letting her die. You said she sucked, which yeah, Shrike was, what’s a nice way to, well, she was the antichrist, basically, and her brother ain’t much better, if at all. Alas, no watery quicksand of death for Crane, though his death was most satisfying to witness, matched by how great it was seeing your reaction to it. Seeing the death itself, I channeled Harrison Ford, said, “Crane! Prepare to again see your dear departed sister! In HELL!” Seeing your reaction, I cackled like the Emperor, and said, “Goood! Goooood!” Ah, twas most wonderful to see, Jess, as was the reaction as a whole. I most anticipate the final Fear reaction. Until then, thank you for the terrific reaction.
