First off, Jess, no apologies are necessary for the delay in the upload of this reaction. You have been saying you’ve been dealing with a rough patch or two, with that in mind, I figured it was the cause of said delay, and I was willing to be patient. I’m just happy to see you have it uploaded. This was, I thought, an excellent finale. Concerning the final opening group shot over the title. I did not run the final opening group shot with a fine-toothed comb, however, if you say that Daniel was unjustly placed in the corner, I will take your word for it, and concur that it is bullshit. Madison surely went through it this episode. I liked how you were kind of siding with Tracy not wanting to be with Madison what with the whole Madison killed her dad business. A bit of a jolt when Tracy shot Madison. That was something though, when Madison made the sacrifice that she did. You commented on the full-circle nature of it, I noted that as well, saying, “Poetry. Rhyming. Stanzas rhyming. Love that.” Concerning Alicia, past a point, I kept noting that we never see the death and only have Troy’s word to go on. Thus, like how you said, the idea of seeing her alive entered into the mind, I thought, “Possible.” Seeing her alive, and more than that, seeing your reaction to it was emotional. More emotional was seeing that Skidmark lives still. I saw that, yelled, “He LIIIIVES!!!” Not a tremendous surprise that Tracy was not Alicia’s kid. They posit the heartfelt motive for Troy’s lie about that. I sided more with your interpretation, Jess, thinking, “Maybe he was just being an asshole, you ever think about that?” Nice to see Dwight and Sherry are staying together. I recall that you had the issues with them being separated at the mid-season point, thus, it warmed the heart seeing them be together again, and that you were happy with it. Likewise, it is heartwarming seeing June and Odessa go off together. It was lovely seeing Strand getting his happy ending with his new family. Especially after Colman made me cry during his emotional scenes. And he knows that Madison and Alicia live still, and it gives him peace. Now to Daniel. Rubén’s big scene where he just unloaded on Strand and Madison was excellent. Like you said, there’s plenty of animosity/bad blood on both Strand and Daniel’s ends. Yes, they are both men who have fallen from the purer path. Yet their methods do not differ as much as perhaps either of them would like. As Strand posits, he is a shadowy reflection of Daniel, and Daniel ultimately concedes that there may be some truth to that. All of their final scene was just such a wonderful conclusion to their shared stories, and I loved that you loved it. Which brings us to that oh so FANTASTIC moment when Daniel is reunited with Skidmark. Jess, I loved the scene and especially your reaction to it. You comment on that getting a more emotional reaction out of you than the Madison and Alicia reunion, my response is, “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” I also had a bigger emotional moment towards the Skidmark scenes than the Alicia scenes, and even if I didn’t, still, I don’t see the problem. As to the beloved brother and sister, which I imagine that you’ve already looked up on that. On the off chance that you haven’t, I did catch a statement from the showrunner saying that they, and I believe the Rabbi was mentioned as well, were alive and well and were part of Luciana’s network, which sounds nice to me. And now, you’ve come to the end of Fear. It warmed the heart to hear you thank everyone who was with you on the entire journey through the show. Though I was not part of the entire journey, the journey shared with you was most wonderful. And you say it meant so much to you to have people sticking by you and your love for the show, then it means a lot to me that I was able to contribute to that, even if it wasn’t that much. And I’m sure that those with you from early on most appreciate your gratitude. In any case, I thank you for this reaction, the lovely time during this final season, and with it, your wonderful insights into the stories and characters of Fear. It was just wonderful, Jess, thank you.
