With this season already being over, I had among forgotten that you still had reactions coming down the pipe. It’ll almost be as though the season hasn’t already ended. Haha! 👏🏼

Good call on not looking at the credits, since Peter and Wendy (huh, there's a coincidence) are the ONLY characters here where they didn't get the original actor back. Even the people who briefly played the young T'Chaka and Hope came back in! And boy, did they luck out that unlike something like Harrison Ford in the opening flashback of Dial of Destiny, Michael Douglas, Laurence Fishburne, and Kurt Russell's voices all haven't changed a bit since the '80s so they still sound perfectly fitting here. There was clearly significant thought put in to how the available characters could best interact with each other once they came up with the idea of '80s Avengers, and special kudos to whoever came up with Peter and Hope bonding over their lost mothers. The end result is another one like Captain Carter or Star Lord T'Challa where I really wouldn't mind seeing more of what happens in this universe.

And I have to point out, who could have predicted you uploading two Hayley Atwell projects on the very same day?

This was another fun episode. An interesting set-up where the point of divergence is that Yondu delivered Star-Lord to Ego. There’s also the point of divergence that this variant of Star-Lord seems to possess a working brain rather than the shithead variant on the Sacred Timeline. I relate to your reaction to 1988, the year of your birth, appearing on screen. I had a similar thing seeing Civil War in the theater when 1991, the year of my birth, popped up on screen. I liked this Avenger line-up. I get what you mean that although Hank is not strictly speaking unpopular, he does get overlooked some. I had momentary confusion over Wendy Lawson, saying, “Who is that again?” then it clicked, “Right. Annette Bening.” Although Annette does not play the character here as evidenced by her name not being included in the credits, which, by the way, I’m fully onboard with you looking away during the credits, talking to us to avoid the obscenely spoilerific opening credits. I loved your comments on Kurt Russell’s hair. It is something; feathered and lethal, you just don’t see it anymore these days. The caution pertaining to Hope’s interactions with young Star-Lord isn’t the least understandable thing in the world. After all, Jess, we are, you and I, skeptical Slytherins. I too was wary if nothing else, if it makes you feel any better. John Slattery got me in the heart with Howard’s scene of talking the Winter Soldier down. Your own reaction, likewise, right in the heart. Speaking of characters and/or actors I’d like to see in theory in this show. Off the top of my head, Mads Mikkelsen’s character in Doctor Strange. I also need a lot more of Michael Keaton. I’d also take Alfred Molina and Willem Dafoe. I know that Doc Ock and the Green Goblin aren’t one-shots, yet I would love to see them involved in this show. Another fun reaction, Jess, thank you.

I’d say there is a touch more gravel to Michael Douglas’s voice than compared to, say, when he was in Wall Street which was ‘87. Kurt Russell, likewise, there’s a little gravel. It is less noticeable than Harrison Ford in Dial of Destiny, or Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci in The Irishman. Or with Star Wars, the occasions where Ian McDiarmid and or James Earl Jones sound older than the characters are meant to be during certain stories. Of course, that’s usually not been too much of a bother for me as I’m just happy to see the actors keep working, and in the case of the Star Wars characters, it’s just lovely to keep hearing Ian and James as the iconic characters. I concede it is noticeable, and I can see how distracting it would be, yet if that’s the only problem at times, I can live with it. I could do with more of this Avengers lineup.

Especially since unlike Season 1, this one doesn't bother keeping surprise ending appearances out of the credits. I quickly started looking away myself.

To answer a question: I need more Michael Pena as Luis from the Ant-Man projects
