So this is how we're doing this. You guys are getting this one a couple of hours early, but I'll also be posting this video to youtube tonight. You understand you kinda gotta strike while the iron is hot with these things, post videos that are relevant while the show is new. That being said, you'll still be two videos ahead moving forward after this as explained near the end of this video, because I'll be posting the two you guys are actually ahead with to youtube, while I post the Overanalyzings for this season on here. So basically this video is on youtube tonight, but you guys roll right into the proper episode Overanalyzing's right after this video, while youtube has to wait, and honestly might not/probably won't get them at all because Netflix probably won't let me post them. You guys are always really cool about me having to post stuff on here at the same time as youtube to attack the algorithm properly, and I really appreciate that. Anyway, enjoy. I'm sure there will be more than a few of you that will disagree with me in this video, but I think I'll be more critical in the single episode videos when I have the time to get down to the nitty gritty.

This season had some good things in it. Whoever thought to give Iroh PTSD about going back to Ba Sing Se gets a gold star from me. Having Jeong Jeong be the reason Lu Ten died because he quit was interesting. While I'm not a fan of Aang learning how to heal, I do like that it sets up energy bending with the way Katara explained it. Want Shi Tan looked amazing and a lot of the set pieces were beautiful. And the last thing I can think of off the top of the dome being good is how Tales of Ba Sing Se was. Everything else in the show was either ok, passable or bad And what sucks about the bad stuff to me is that it was all the big moments that were bad. Season 1- 5 out of 10 Season 2- 6 out of 10

This is gonna be my first time watching one of your reviews on Avatar content that I haven't already consumed myself. It looks so dogwater.

Good takes. One thing, Toph's actress goes by the name Miyako instead of her old name due to some pretty bad family abuse issues (she talks about it on her tiktok), may be worth fixing out of respect to what she has gone through before publishing this publicly (or at least in the episode reviews).

It’s probably a little evil of me that my first thought in hearing this was “Damn, they really nailed Toph’s casting. They even got someone with family issues.”

💀I did notice the irony that of the main cast Toph is the ONLY one with any kind of relationship with her mother, which happens to be the opposite of the actress herself

I am totally fine with them changing things, as you said, it would be dumb if its a 1:1 copy. But I think sometimes the changes felt like „we change it just to be different“ instead of having reasons to do so. And other times they change it, it is interesting but then they don’t stick to the change and want to come back to conclusions and story beats of the animated show that now don’t make sense because of the changes and also wont hit the same 😅 if you do something new, go all the way and stop fishing for a nostalgia that you will not capture and don’t need, because then it will feel cringey

The first episode had me doubting a lot, it just didn't sit right with me. Then the next day I binged the other 6 and was honestly pleasantly surprised. I don't think I could call it a good season, but that may only be because I also can't see it separate from the cartoon. It was fine though, much better than S1. The VFX were much better. The acting was more solid, though child actors still don't do it for me. Some specific scenes felt very forced, like the cactus juice scene, or the need for Iroh to draw the tribe-symbols in the dirt and then not explain anything about them. Other adaptations were much better like Tales from Ba Sing Se and imo even the Leaves from the Vine scene. If I had to grade it... it would pass. But just barely. 6/10.

Any thoughts on the Avatar fighting game? I recall you having mentioned enjoying fighting games in other videos... I just finished the playtest and was wondering if you'd ever make any content on it (streams or general impressions on the game in video or post format)
