Chapter #15: Fake love, part II.

After the movie, Harry and Daphne were discussing what they liked and what they didn’t, it seems like the blonde considered that superhero movie the most amazing thing she had ever seen, Harry didn't want to be rude, so, he decided to keep his true opinion to himself.

“The special effects, Harry, it’s truly amazing how they manage to do all that, are you sure they don’t know how to use magic? It all looked way too real to be fake,” she said without thinking.

Harry felt a little uncomfortable, the last thing he wanted was to risk the statute of secrecy, however, some people just looked at them with amusement, while others had confused expressions.

Harry was hoping there were no wizards or witches nearby to call them out for being too careless about speaking about magic in the muggle world, in any case, Harry just chuckled at the blonde's antics.

“No, just tons of people and computers, Daphne, there’s nothing else involved, trust me, if there were magic involved, the movies would be released right after they were announced, the development takes years just like in video games!” Harry said, and she was amazed.

After that, there was a comfortable silence, Harry surprisingly decided to grab her hand, which was something she wasn’t clearly expecting, but she wasn’t angry about it, in fact, she was smiling, they were on a fake date after all, and this was part of it.

“So, what are we going to do now?” She asked with a curious expression.

“You already know about videogames, that’s why our next stop is at an arcade, and that place is filled with machines, you can play videogames on all those machines, there was one place like that near my uncles' place and that’s where I spent the money earned from my summer jobs and also, the money I managed to exchange before coming back from our world,” he explained and she nodded.

She was surprised he was going to take her to that place but she was excited at the same time and soon, they were already on their way to visit that place, it seems like Harry had everything planned, he looked at the locations on his phone before coming so he was more than ready to go to that place.

When they arrived, Daphne couldn’t stop herself from gasping, the sounds, the lights, and the noise from the people discussing and playing together was a very interesting experience.

“This place is special, you know? Due to everyone having consoles, phones, or computers, places like these have become less popular throughout the years, that’s why you can find many machines from a lot of eras, come on, let’s try the fighting game machines,” he grabbed her hand, and soon they walked towards the staff who was in charge of the place.

They exchanged bills for coins, and soon Harry explained to her how to play and use the controls, thankfully, she had already gotten used to this system due to the time she spent playing Zelda.

They moved around the place, he showed her many different types of arcade machines, they played shooters with controls that looked like guns, racing games, which were a bit scary for the blonde witch because she didn’t know how to drive, but after realizing it was almost like flying a broom, she became quite good at it.

Then they went to the dance machines, it was good exercise, and the music was interesting, neither of them was too good at them, though because they weren’t used to this, even Harry, who was an athlete because of his Quidditch training, still had difficulties keeping up with the arrows that appeared on the screen.

“Wow…This has been…Intense to say the least,” she said with a smirk, and he chuckled at her reaction.

“Trust me, this was my first time with the dance machines, too. I wasn’t expecting to have too much fun, places like this were my place to escape, as my relatives rarely let me have fun,” he sighed as he remembered those years.

Yes, he had a rough time growing up, but at least he didn’t have to worry about a war and people who could kill you with a wooden stick. However, he quickly shook off his thoughts as he didn’t want to make the situation uncomfortable.

“Well, I guess we should go to our next destination, but first,” he grabbed her hand, and soon they went towards a dark part of the room where the machines that didn’t work were located.

Soon, he made a movement with his hands, and he smiled at her, she somehow felt more at ease.

“What did you do?” She asked calmly with a curious expression.

“Well, we really sweated because of all the physical activity we did in this place and that's without taking into account our little time on the dancing machine, I just got us clean because the next place we’re going to visit require us to be at our best,” she was excited about what was going to come and nodded.

Soon, they were in the car on their way to their next destination, they drove around a busy area, and luckily, they found a spot to park the car, soon, they reached a place with a letter that looked a bit weird to Daphne.

“Ramen?” She said as she read the text in English.

“Yes, that’s a really nice way to end the date, trust me, you’re going to love this,” Harry promised her, and she decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Soon they were greeted by the owners, a Japanese couple who came to study a few years ago, and this ramen place became too popular after the virus that put the whole world on pause.

Harry knew about this place as it became viral a few years ago, but he didn’t have the chance to come because of the war. Harry ordered a spicy bowl with extra noodles and a lot of meat, while Daphne asked for something more basic alongside gyozas.

“Well, let’s see if it's as good as they say on the internet,” she said before she grabbed some noodles after learning how to use the chopsticks.

She was a bit surprised by the way they worked, but soon her thoughts moved elsewhere, not only was she enjoying the way the food tasted like, but she felt that nothing could be more delicious than this.

“Wow…This is…It’s great!” She said happily before she started to gulp more of the food.

Harry was amused, and soon, he decided to give her some of his meat before he started to eat too, he couldn’t stop smirking the whole time he ate. Daphne couldn’t believe something could taste as good as this, and if it wasn't because one bowl was enough for her to get full, she would’ve asked for more.

“I’m definitely coming for more once the program ends,” she declared, and Harry nodded happily at her. “Harry…I want to thank you, this fake date…It has been amazing, never in my life have I had fun like this, and…Well, the only thing I can do is this,” she declared before she decided to hold his cheeks with her palms and finally slam her lips against his.

Harry’s eyes widened, of all the things that could happen at the end of their fake date, this was the last one on his list, now came the real question, how was he going to react to this?
