Chapter #43: Breaking news.

A man watching his tv in the united states, pedestrians on their way to work in Tokyo, billboard screens on skyscrapers all over the world, people in their smartphones or computers, all these people have something in common, they were watching a young man with emerald eyes and he was somehow making very realistic magic tricks, he was lifting a rock by just pointing a wood stick.

“Is this a trailer for a new movie?” Asked a random person in Hawaii.

“Wow, those special effects are amazing!” A person in Barcelona was awed as the man kept doing more tricks.

“What the hell is going on right now…” An old woman from Tennessee said as she looked at the witchcraft she assumed was currently happening on her TV.

She ran to grab her bible and a cross.

“That’s awesome…I guess this is an ad for some kind of product that makes effects in real time, right? Oh, how I wish magic were real…” A woman with glasses from London sighed as she looked at her collection of fantasy books.

The whole world was watching what was going on, social media was exploding with all the screen captures, the topic trended immediately, people were confused, and they couldn't help but theorize what this was all about. On forums and imageboards, people were making conspiracies about the end of the world.

Some religious people were warning people about this on their social media accounts, and others were attempting to start a cult, people who wanted to become rich created a crypto coin, others were claiming that what was going was nothing but A.I. and begged for entertainment companies to stop doing this due to the damage A.I. causes to the environment and then, the man stopped because suddenly, another person joined him, it was the British prime minister.

“Ladies and gentlemen from all over the world,” the man said as the broadcast was being translated in real time all over the world. “What you’ve seen now is something people always theorized existed, but most people thought of them as lunatics…This was magic,” the man said with a straight face.

The reactions around the world were mixed. Some people were confused as they thought this was nothing but a joke from the minister, while others were excited, and some religious and non-religious people were worried that their biggest fear was becoming a reality.

While many modern priests were looking at what was happening on the screen with interest, they wanted to wait before saying something about this. Meanwhile, the minister encouraged the emerald-eyed wizard to finally speak, and the dark-haired man nodded with a smile.

“I know it sounds crazy, but that’s the truth,” Harry said before he took his invisibility cloak and then disappeared.

People all over the world gasped, and then Harry appeared again.

“Wizards and witches have existed for a long time, but we’ve been living a secret life to avoid scaring you guys, but…I thought that it was time to finally reveal ourselves and go back to those days when magical and non-magical people used to be part of the same society,” Harry decided to make another trick.

He managed to transfigure some objects, and the people all over the world were impressed.

“Sadly, being a magical person is an inherited trait; my parents were magical, however, you’d be surprised to know that you’re probably related to one of us, after all, we've been forced to hide ourselves. Some traits are skipped until next generations, just like it happens with eye color and hair color, magic is the same,” Harry told them, and soon, people all over the world started to speculate.

Some of them were curious, and others preferred not to think about what they were seeing too much; for many people, it was easier to pretend that this was nothing but a hoax.

“Now, before the panic starts, I’d like to clarify that we magical people have no relation with demons or any other identities that could make you think we’re your enemies, because trust me, if wizards had wanted to conquer you, it would’ve happened during the Middle Ages when people were being cruel towards us…I’m sorry, but we didn’t ask to be born like this; it’s just the way it is,” Harry told them with a calm expression.

He knew he had to be careful with what he said, or else panic could make people do stupid things, so, he knew he had to warn them and tell them that magical people were mostly pacifists but it was also important to warn them of their power, there are going to be some wizards that are going to be difficult to deal with if they’re threatened, so, the last thing he wants is a war between muggles and magical people.

“So, now that everything has been clarified, I’d like to tell you guys the reason why we decided to reveal to you after so many centuries, and it’s because humanity is ready, I know this is going to be scary for you, but the problems humanity is facing, we can help you with that, we want to create a society in which humans could reach their true potential because in the ends, that’s what we all are…Humans,” Harry said with a calm expression.

His words made many people think about what he said.

“Global warming? We can help with that because our abilities defy the physics that we all know; for example, we can create more energy than the energy we consume,” Harry said with a smirk.

He knew many people around the world would now start to speculate and think about the many ways magic could be used to help humanity. The energetic crisis will be one of them. Harry also knew that the people in the energy sector wouldn’t be happy about it; he knew he was going to crash the oil business, but he didn’t care.

“And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what we magical people can do, however, we also admire you guys, you’ve managed to surpass us technologically speaking, all the high tech you’ve invented is impressive and sometimes is even better than magic, that’s why we want to work together with you, I know we can achieve some incredible things if we work together,” Harry took a pause.

He looked at the people in the recording studio, and they were all stunned.

“My name is Harry Potter, and I hope you can hear from me in the future and I hope I will be able to tell you our advancements, we’re just like you guys, the only difference is that we can do crazy things with our wands, so, please don’t be mean to us as we recently saved the world from a lunatic wizard who wanted to kill all of you, we’re on your side, please don’t forget that,” Harry finally finished.

The transmission stopped, and soon, the online conversation that was already intense became heated. Some people were calling for everyone to grab their weapons and kill the wizards and witches they could find; some said that magical people didn’t belong here and that earth was no place for demonic people.

Many women all over the world were thirsting for Harry, and many couldn’t help but wonder if there was a way for them to have a magical son or daughter; they would be more than glad to do that, especially if Harry Potter were the one who gets them pregnant.
