Chapter #23: In the void.

Draco Malfoy smirked as an explosion took place on the headquarters while he flew away, it was easier to escape in a broom, especially in the newest firebolt model, it’s a twenty percent faster than the previous model, he was going to escape to eastern Europe where he was going to resume the operations, after all, there are many headquarters all over the world that he and his father prepared for a situation like this.

And he wasn’t alone; there was a group of hit wizards protecting him. They usually protected the cargo, and they were the ones who kept the dealers in check in case they decided to consume the product or run away with their profits. They never failed him; there were eight of them accompanying him, two on each broom.

There was no way Potter and Susan could catch him. He knew this was over; he just needed to flee the country, and he would be a free man. He knew Potter was a good flier, but there was no way he was going to catch him. Draco felt so confident until something hit his broom.

“What the…” He said, shocked, and soon there were more attacks.

Luckily, the hit wizards were able to stop the spells and even counterattacked whoever dared to attack them. They were trying to find the source behind the attacks; however, Draco knew very well what was going on.

“They're here…They're hiding under his invisibility cloak, be careful!” Draco warned them.

With that piece of information, one of them decided to summon the invisibility cloak, but instead of revealing Harry Potter, the attack was reflected, and soon, the one who tried to reveal Harry and Susan fell from his broom, that wizard fell to an obvious death, it doesn't matter if you're magical or muggle, the same thing happens if you fall from a very high height, so, the person who was sitting behind that wizard quickly took control of the broom.

“Fuck…I forgot about it. You cannot summon that thing, it’s a special invisibility cloak!” Draco spat angrily.

However, this confusion was more than enough for them to receive more attacks from the hidden enemy, Draco couldn’t help but scream as he tried to escape while his guards repelled the attacks, Draco knew if one of the attacks touched him it was over, he needed to be careful, sadly his men weren’t as calm as he expected them to be, they’re hit wizards after all and due to their recklessness many of them fell from their brooms, now there were only four of them, two in each broom.

However, something they didn’t expect happened; they were so busy looking behind them trying to find the objective that they didn’t pay attention to what was going on in front of them, and soon, they were facing a giant wall of light.

“Fuck, what is that?!” Draco asked, completely shocked.

“It’s a magical barrier!” One of the hit wizards said with a smirk.

“Interesting…” Another one muttered.

“Let’s destroy it, guys!” Another one declared, and the fourth nodded.

They were as crazy as they looked, and soon, they started to attack the wall, and somehow, they managed to break it. An explosion soon took place, and now the place was filled with a dark cloud; it was impossible to see anything.

“I don’t even know where we’re heading, just follow me, we’ll change our route once we get out of this cloud!” Malfoy told his guards, and soon, everyone tried to escape from that cloud.

It took them a while, but in the end, they managed to get off it, and soon, they started to fly faster than they had been doing. It didn’t take too long for Draco to laugh like crazy as he escaped.

“Those idiots thought they could stop me from—” Draco was about to say.

However, his eyes widened once he saw another broom approaching them. Surprisingly, the thing was fast enough to outrun them, and Draco looked angry the moment he saw the people who were on that broom. It was Potter and Susan, and she was the one with the wand raised while Potter was focused on flying the broom.

Of course, with a genius like that on the broom, it was impossible for them not to outrun the blonde and his companions. Draco hated to admit it, but he knew Potter was better when it came to brooms; however, he didn’t have time to think about those things because soon, Susan decided to send a light attack.

She sent a small light sphere towards them. Draco couldn’t believe he worried about such a simple thing; he was going to laugh at her pathetic attempt to attack them. Of course, a nurse like Susan wouldn’t hurt them, even if he did something horrible - her ethics were above everything else.

Or so he thought, because the sphere suddenly expanded and started to cover them. Draco’s eyes widened as he moved away, and soon, his remaining guards were gone, the light consumed their brooms, and all of them fell to the void, screaming, knowing they were doomed. They didn’t want to go without putting up a fight, so they sent attacks towards Harry and Susan.

The redhead was able to block some, but a few of those attacks landed on them; however, Harry decided to use his wand while flying, something Draco never dared to do, as controlling a broom and your wand at the same time is very difficult, however, he didn’t have time to waste, he needed to escape as faster as possible.

“I’m getting the fuck out of here!” Draco declared, and soon, he tried to flee as fast as he could.

However, something was happening with his broom; the thing was fast but not as fast as it had been. In fact, the thing seemed to slow down at a scary pace.

“Come on, don’t give up now!” Draco practically begged the thing, and then he looked at the back of his broom.

The thing was a bit burned by Susan’s attack.

“No, there’s no way…The material used for this broom is supposed to be almost indestructible!" He complained as he kept going down.

But he wasn’t the only one, due to the attacks received by the hit wizards on their broom, Harry and Susan were slowing down too, they needed to land as fast as possible and Draco had no choice but do the same thing, and so, slowly but steady, they finally managed to get back on ground but because Draco landed first, he decided to attack Susan.

“Shit!” The redhead said after the attack hurt her.

However, she wasn’t going to easily give up, so, even if her wand arm was hurt, she didn’t back down.

“Come on, don’t be a coward, Draco…Come and face me…You wanted to kill me, don’t you? If you were man enough to kill your father, come face me!” Susan was possessed by anger; she wanted to make Draco pay for all the pain he had caused.

Draco was hiding under the bushes, and he took advantage of his position to attack Susan. Harry was going to help her, but she stopped him.

“No, Harry… Let me do this… I must be the one who defeats him!” Susan soon charged, and a duel started between the redhead and the blonde.

Harry could only watch the fight with worry. Still, he had a duty to this country, so he sent a message to the secret service. They arrived to capture Malfoy, but he somehow managed to put Susan on the ground, and now he had all the power to destroy her.

“They’re all pointing their wands at me…It doesn’t matter, I’m going to take you to hell with me!” Draco promised.

Susan was breathing heavily; it seemed like her end was near.
