Chapter #3: A prodigy.

Harry doesn’t remember being a good Auror; hell, he doesn't even remember how to be an Auror, and yet, despite all that, he was now easily fighting ten recruits. It was their final test, one of their spells needs to hit him, but they also need to resist for as long as they can.

If they manage to hit him with a spell, they’re going to be assigned to the main unit, but if they don’t, they’re going to start as regular officers just like most Aurors have done. Apparently, in this life, Harry was a genius full of confidence. He attended Muggle elementary school and was one of the best students. Also, he was the striker of the school's football team. Then, when it was time for him to finally go to Hogwarts, he was the third-best student after Hermione and Daphne.

He became the captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team in his first year when he impressed Snape, and because the current captain at the time wasn’t happy because the rules were bent so Harry could play, even if it would benefit the whole team, he tried to humiliate Harry, he tried to hit him with a spell.

However, that only backfired because Harry managed to avoid it as he was already taught spells by his retired Auror father, and also, his mother taught him everything she knew about charms and she was the best charms student professor Flitwick has had in all his years teaching, not even Harry, Daphne nor Hermione managed to get close to her greatness, she was disciplined and talented, a dangerous combination, that’s why she teaches charms to post-graduate students.

However, her class is so difficult that usually only two or three students out of the usually twenty that join her finish her classes and the same goes to his father, a genius in the dark arts, so, with that lineage and the fact that they taught him just a bit so he could defend himself as this is a dangerous world, he managed to humiliate Marcus Flint.

Sadly, he ended up in the hospital and thus, they ended up without a captain and as consequence, without a strategist, or so they thought, he was just a first year but Harry decided to take the lead, he was fearless, so, he didn’t give a fuck if anyone wanted to oppose him, in the end, they heard his plan and followed it through, surprisingly, they ended up destroying Gryffindor, the rival they hadn’t defeated for years.

In the end, they accepted Harry as a captain, and despite all his achievements, Harry was confident but humble; he never humiliated anyone, as he knew his parents would kill him if he acted as if he were superior. Girls loved him, guys wanted to be like him, and he took many younger students under his wing as he tutored students just for fun. He was a model student.

He and Hermione became prefects and head boy and head girl, they were best friends, everyone was surprised because he didn’t end up with her, the reality was that Hermione was into girls and not boys and he was fine with that, the two of them bonded a lot because of that, she was the sister he couldn’t have because his parents were focused completely on him and their careers, one child was more than enough for them.

“Fuck!” One of the recruits said after he was defeated.

The rest tried to use the distraction to attack Harry, but all of them were defeated, or so he thought, before a girl launched an electric spell; however, as if he were in the Matrix movie, Harry inclined his back and the attack passed all over his face, and so, he decided to call for the fight to end.

“Harry…What’s wrong?” Asked Kingsley with a confused expression.

“That girl…” Harry said with a serious expression.

“Oh, sorry, I’m Nicole Smith, I’m Zacharias Smith’s younger sister, I’m sorry, I’ve always admired you—” Harry stopped the blonde girl in her tracks by raising his hand.

He soon grabbed a small hair and showed it to her and Kingsley. She was a bit confused by that action.

“Your attack churned this hair…” Harry said with a plain tone.

“I-I’m sorry it won’t—” She was stopped once again.

“Congratulations…You have great potential. It’s the first time in ages that someone’s attack has touched me,” Harry said with a smile.

“So that means…” The girl was on the verge of tears.

“Yes, welcome to the main unit, congratulations,” Kingsley said with a smirk.

The girl started to happily jump before she hugged both aurors, who were confused but decided to hug her back.

“You start next Monday in my squad, I want you here at eight,” Harry said with a smile, and she nodded before she ran.

“The rest of you, get cleaned up, and we’ll see you tomorrow so you can get assigned to your duties,” Kingsley told the wizards on the floor.

It was interesting to see that the only girl in the group was the one who managed to pass. Harry, on the other hand, needed to clean himself; that practice made him sweat. Apparently, they’ve been like that for almost twenty minutes.

“Harry…Are you okay?” Asked Kingsley with a surprised expression.

“Yes…Why wouldn’t I be?” Asked the emerald-eyed wizard with a confused expression.

“Well, you hate to lose…When that happens, you usually make a fuss. To be honest, I was a bit worried about that girl,” Harry’s former instructor scratched the back of his head.

Harry realized something; it seems like in this reality, he has a more explosive character. He doesn’t want to act out of character, but he finds it hard to picture himself throwing a tantrum because he lost a duel he was supposed to lose; in fact, it was impressive that he managed to defeat nine trained Aurors.

He killed Voldemort, that’s the truth but there are some things that even the weakest wizards have, the agility, the ability to throw spells desperately, that’s something most magical people have because all those things fueled by a sense of survival, something good to have because if you don’t act like that in a life or death situation you have no place in the Auror forces.

“Well, I guess I felt like it’s time to grow up…This is for the well-being of our country. I’m not mad about losing, in fact, I feel hopeful, people see me as the standard of what a strong wizard should be, if I’m defeated and that person is in a position where they can protect other people, then…I’m happy to lose,” Harry said with a soft smile.

However, he wasn’t expecting Kingsley to grab him from the shoulders.

“Who are you and what have you done to Harry James Potter?” Asked the dark-skinned wizard in a shocked tone.

Harry could only laugh.

“As I said, I feel like it’s time for me to grow up…It’s time to put my ego aside, especially now that I’m married,” Harry couldn’t help but sigh.

“Wow, if I knew marrying two women would’ve changed you for good, I would’ve arranged a double marriage years ago. I guess I should've listened to Sirius!” A voice that caught Harry by surprise said.

Then he looked back at the person who said that, it was his father, and he was coming out of the family’s invisibility cloak. The man was grinning, and Harry tried not to feel overwhelmed by the happiness he felt to finally see his father.
