Chapter #2: A crazy proposal.

When Harry Potter was told, he was accepted to the Auror forces, he was beaming, and to make things better, he was going to work for Bellatrix Black. He had a secret; he had admired the woman since he was young, and she gave a conference at Hogwarts.

Not only is she to blame for his taste in older women, but he couldn’t stop thinking about her since the day of the conference, and when he knew that she wasn’t married, like any young, inexperienced man, he thought he had a chance with her.

The woman has caught countless criminals, and she has made her life mission to catch the ones that are on the list of the most wanted criminals around the wizarding world, not only Britain but the world, something he thinks is very cool, so he was ecstatic to join her squad.

However, her training has been nothing but hell; she makes him and the other recruits do impossible tasks for their current ability level, and the worst thing she has is her attitude. She is a woman who, when she wants something, has to get it at the moment.

“According to your qualifications, you’re more than capable of doing what you’re being told unless you’re frauds, and I don’t want frauds in my team!” She declared one day after she made a female recruit cry.

That female recruit then quit the forces.

She never took into consideration that he and his young colleagues were in the training stage; they had just joined the forces. The woman is very demanding, and she doesn’t accept excuses; she screams, she gets angry a lot, she’s arrogant, and she never apologizes. No matter who she hurts, she clearly has anger issues.

“You have to marry Bellatrix Black, son,” James Potter said to Harry one day out of nowhere.

Harry had been invited by his parents to join them for lunch during his only free day, the only day on which he doesn’t have to think about the awful Bellatrix Black, the one who is making him contemplate quitting the Auror forces every day.

“What?” Harry couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“You have to marry Bellatrix Black,” James repeated, fearing Harry’s reaction.

However, he took them by surprise when he started to laugh.

“That’s a good one, Dad… Imagine marrying your boss… The one who hates you the most!” Harry added as he kept laughing.

His parents remained silent for a few moments.

“She, in fact, has already accepted the marriage, son,” James told him.

Harry was starting to get tired; the joke wasn’t fun anymore, so he glared at them.

“Wait, are you two being serious?” Harry asked, not believing what he was hearing. “But she hates me… Why would she even accept? Why would you do this to me?” Harry couldn’t believe it.

“Listen, son… As you know, your father and I… We were only able to conceive you, so the fate of the Potter family rests on your shoulders, which means that you have a duty,” Lily spoke this time.

Harry was surprised because his mother was the one who was against those old-fashioned pureblood customs.

“I have to have an heir,” Harry clarified, and his mother nodded.

“You know very well my opinion about pureblood customs, and I was expecting you that by the time you graduated, you would marry and then start a family with Hermione, but…” Lily started, and Harry was scandalized.

“What? But she’s my best friend and also… She doesn’t even like wizards!” Harry was shocked.

“Yeah, well… We didn’t know that until very recently, when she tried to flirt with Nymphadora while she was drunk. We thought our love story was repeating with you two. We’re sorry for projecting our lives on you two,” Lily told him with a soft smile.

“Yes, but back to the main topic… It’s important to continue the line, Harry… It's not a good idea to not have an heir as soon as possible. I don’t wish you death, but that's something unpredictable. Hell, you can die while you’re asleep, and without an heir, the government could seize our assets after we're gone!” James said with a worried expression.

Harry remained calm as he listened to their logic.

“I know it’s too much, but… You don’t even have to love her; you two just need to produce an heir in a year, and then you can break the marriage if you wish,” James told him with a worried expression.

He was concerned that Harry would snap and do something crazy like renouncing the Potter last name; if that were to happen, the family would be screwed.

“Be honest with me, Dad? What’s the reason for this?” Harry wasn’t angry, just curious.

James sighed.

“As you know, the Potters and the Black family have always despised each other; there’s a history of feuds, battles, and civil wars. This feud has lasted centuries, this marriage… It could end the feud once and for all, especially if it produces a Potter heir with ties to the Black family… We could finally put an end to it, and so, our families could finally move on to shape a better future,” his father told him with a serious tone.

Harry thought for a few moments. He was well aware of the feud; in fact, that was the reason why he never got along with Malfoy, even if he was a Malfoy, he still acted in the name of the Black family, and to be honest, he was tired. If he married Bellatrix, not only could the feud end, but it would also technically make him Draco’s uncle.

The thought was fun, and he would love to see the ferret’s face when he realizes he’s going to become his uncle. On the other hand, marrying Bellatrix sounded like hell; he could already imagine in his head what would happen if he rejected the proposal, considering she had already accepted.

She would make his life at work a living hell; he can already imagine her using his rejection to justify her hatred towards him, and then she would make him look like a coward for not accepting the proposal.

“It’s just a year, and I guess you guys have a point about the duty I have for this family,” he sighed. “I accept the proposal,” he declared.

Lily and James looked at him with surprised expressions. They were expecting him to fight more, but they decided not to say anything. The last time the Potters and the Black family fought, they almost caused a magical world war. It was time to end this feud once and for all, so the future descendants of the Potter family could finally live without fear.

“Very well… I’m sending Sirius a message,” James told him with a calm expression.

Soon, Bellatrix arrived alongside Sirius and her father. He was expecting her to be angry at him; however, she had a calm expression.

“Harry Potter… It’s a pleasure to meet my daughter’s future husband,” Cygnus Black said with a smirk.

Soon they shared a handshake. It was time to talk about the wedding arrangements. It seemed like they wanted to rush this wedding, and that’s why, less than a week after that meeting, Harry and Bellatrix were now finally married, and now they were in a private room, ready for their honeymoon and their first night as a married couple.

“I sleep in the bed, you stay on the couch,” she told him with a cold tone before she slammed the bedroom door, locking him out.

“What the—” Everything happened so fast for Harry.

Of course, she would do something like that. Harry didn’t expect her to fall in love with him as soon as they got married; however, he was expecting to at least have sex with her, because, how else are they supposed to bring a heir to this world? Of course, things wouldn’t be easy for Harry; they never are.
