Chapter #21: A helping hand.

Harry was enjoying his meal at the great hall, he didn’t have much to do for the day, he had already done his defense essay and he was more than capable to perform the spell Tonks wanted them to master for the next class, so, he needed to find something to do or else he would get bored to death, however, his peace was suddenly interrupted by Henry and Ron.

It seems like they expected him to bow after them; however, he ignored them and continued enjoying the turkey leg he had been chewing. Then, they clarified their voices as if it were a cue for Harry to pay them attention, but he still ignored them.

“Dursley… We heard you joined the team and that you’re the new seeker,” Henry started.

Harry continued eating, and they started to get annoyed. It was fun to see them react like that; however, this was getting boring quickly, so he decided to piss them off.

“Yes,” Harry just said as if he didn’t care.

“Yes? Is that all you have to say? You think you’re better than me?” Henry tried to intimidate him.

“Of course I am,” Harry declared without hesitation.

It seems like they weren’t expecting that answer. Soon, they looked at him with anger on their faces. It was funny to see Ron’s face get redder than it already was.

“You’re playing a dangerous game, Dursley,” Henry warned him.

“Yes, but that’s the fun part about Quidditch… It’s a dangerous game,” he tried hard not to laugh. He needed to keep his oblivious act together.

Their faces were starting to get angrier and angrier with each word he said.

“You don’t know what I’m capable of, Dursley… I could destroy you in the pitch. Professional teams are salivating at the thought of me joining their teams!" It seems like Henry was demanding respect.

Harry, on the other hand, had already finished his meal, so he got on his feet, and to say he intimidated those two with his presence would be an understatement.

“Well, you'd better pray that the recruiters don’t visit while you’re completing your punishment,” Harry mocked him.

Soon, he started to walk away as he left those two completely speechless, he wasn’t the same coward they were used to, in fact, for the first time in ages, Ron and Henry felt intimidated, they felt that their actions will finally have consequences if they decided to mess with Harry, something was disturbing about him and they couldn’t explain why. Still, they wanted to find what it was.

Harry decided to focus on a different task. He was yawning as he carried a small old book; he was walking in Dumbledore’s office direction, and after some time, he reached the staircase, then he said the password as he heard the professors say it to each other early today, and so, there he was inside Dumbledore’s office.

Out of all the students the professor was expecting to see, Harry Dursley… Well, Potter was the last one he expected to enter his office this morning. Still, even if he was dealing with a potential threat, the aged wizard was still looking grandfatherly at him.

“Good evening, Professor,” Harry said with a calm tone.

“Good evening, Mr. Dursley. What brings you to my office? You don’t have an appointment,” he said with an arched brow.

“I heard the password from the professors,” Harry clarified, and the aged wizard genuinely chuckled.

It reminded Dumbledore of his mischievous younger self.

“Anyway, I brought you this book, I think it’s cursed or something because it tells me to open it,” Harry said as he handed the book to the old wizard.

Dumbledore was skeptical, and then his eyes widened as he saw the name on the front of the book: “Property of Tom Marvolo Riddle.”

The old wizard’s eyes widened; Harry didn't, but he was the first person in ages who had seen a surprised face on Dumbledore's face, but that didn’t last for too long.

Dumbledore opened the book, and his eyes widened. He couldn’t believe what he was reading. The key to defeating Voldemort was here, the horcruxes, the locations, where to find them, and how to destroy them; all of it was written in this book.

“Mr. Potter, did you read any of the contents of this book?” Asked Dumbledore with a worried expression.

“No, professor, I don’t trust cursed books. You know what the legends say about them, either they steal your soul, or they lead you to a path of self-destruction,” Harry admitted with a calm tone.

Dumbledore was surprised, the book was promising great power to the one who reads it and it was a very powerful compulsion charm, it would be hard to resist such offer, and yet, Harry Dursley was fine, he was looking completely sane much more than him, which either meant one thing, either he was a good person or he was too powerful that something so mundane like this wouldn’t catch his interest.

“Where did you find this book, Mr. Dursley?” Asked the aged wizard with a serious expression.

“In the advanced defense against the dark arts classroom, Professor, I was looking for the books donated by the former students to check in case they had tips,” he explained with an innocent smile.

In reality, Harry wrote that diary; he still didn't want to intervene in the war directly, but he needed them to get rid of Voldemort; the faster they did it, the better. He also changed the location of the tiara; they don’t have to know about the room of requirement, that’s his private place to experiment.

Dumbledore locked eyes with him, clearly trying to read his mind, and Harry decided to let him do it; his protections gave Dumbledore nothing but images of him doing mundane things in the Muggle world, like playing video games or eating Muggle food.

“Very well, Mr. Dursley, you did well by bringing a cursed object to me, that’ll be thirty points to Gryffindor, and is there anything else you would like to discuss with me?” Asked the aged wizard.

Harry shook his head.

“Very well, Mr. Dursley, see you later, have a good day,” Dumbledore was practically kicking him out, and the scene was really funny.

Harry got out slowly, and he still managed to hear the aged wizard's desperate call for the order. It seems like they’re going to have a meeting to deal with the Horcruxes. Good for them, he’s now going to Hogsmeade, now that he’s an adult, he’s allowed to leave the school grounds whenever he wants.

He wants to get laid, so what better place to try that than the Three Broomsticks? As he walked in the direction of Hogsmeade, Filch gave him an annoyed look, but Harry ignored him. Before leaving the school, he used his wand to change his attire to something more casual.

White shoes, blue jeans, and a long-sleeved black shirt were more than enough for him to visit the magical village. The place was busy even without the other students, but he was sure which direction he needed to head, and soon, he arrived at the place. It wasn’t empty, but there was not much activity.

“Good evening, what can I do for you, sugar?” Harry heard a woman say, and he couldn’t help but smile.

It was Rosmerta, with her usual, flirty nature.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” He said with a smirk.

The older witch blushed but smiled. This evening was going to be fun.
