Chapter #17: No way out.
Lucius couldn’t believe it, his political niece by marriage was standing in front of him fully transformed from the girl she looked before, she was a human, so, he was relieved that he was fine, he thought a werewolf was going to attack him, however, when he remember that she was an Auror, it suddenly clicked on him, and he started to run but as soon as he did that, more Aurors started to appear with their wands ready to catch him.
“Throw your wand and put your hands up, Lucius!” The older wizard knew that voice very well.
“Potter!” It was his newest brother-in-law.
It was clear that he was angry, and it made sense. Lucius was the cause of all the recent drama in the family. He used the Imperius curse on a bastard that day when he casually visited Bellatrix; that’s why security didn’t notice anything wrong. Wizengamot members can fully enter the ministry without restrictions. The person he used for the attack actually claimed to have some important information.
It was probably fake, and that person just wanted to get money for fake information, but it was all coincidental that Lucius was there; he was actually trying to get information from the inside to know what the Aurors knew about him.
He didn’t want to take his chances, so he used that random guy to blow up the place with all the evidence, and if he was lucky, he could’ve even gotten rid of that bitch Bellatrix, who has been nothing but a nuisance to him since the day he married Narcissa.
Contrary to people’s beliefs, his and Narcissa’s marriage was completely mutual; there was no arrangement between families or a monetary exchange between them for the marriage to happen. They just fell in love, but the one who always showed her discontent about the marriage was Bellatrix.
Andromeda had her own problems to deal with, like the fact that she married a muggleborn and the fact that her daughter was a metamorphmagus, a disgrace for the Black family, or so Sirius' parents claimed, that why the person who had all the time and energy, always treated him like shit and that person was Bellatrix he was hopeful about killing her, she needed to be gone already.
Sadly, he just received a patronus message from Draco, telling him that she was going to survive, she was only going to have memory problems, and that not even with a reverse obliviate she would recover her memories, which made him feel like the luckiest bloke alive because once she came back, he was going to find a way to murder her.
However, it seems like he has other problems; he knows this is crazy, but he has no other option than to run away and risk being killed by the group of Aurors commanded by one of the people she hated the most, Nymphadora Tonks.
"Take your wand and drop it, Lucius… Think about your son and wife!” Harry, even though he was completely enraged, wanted to catch the bastard alive.
He had many questions left to answer. He could get the dementor’s kiss later, but first, he needs to answer Harry's questions. Lucius was getting desperate. He still had his wand hidden; he could fool them and then kill them by surprise.
“Avada—” Lucius started before he grabbed his wand.
However, his eyes widened the moment he realized something: his wand wasn't there.
“Were you looking for something, Uncle Lucius?” Asked Nymphadora with a smirk as she showed the wizard’s wand.
Lucius was looking at the thing with awe, then he realized something, when she bumped into him, that’s the moment when she stole his wand, he had no way out unless he decided to die.
“Okay, okay… I’m surrendering,” Lucius declared with a desperate tone.
Soon, Lucius was being read his rights. The mission had been successful; no one got hurt, and they were happy knowing that they finally had the main suspect.
“I’m glad it’s finally over,” Ron said happily.
“No, the problems are just starting, or well, at least for me,” Harry sighed. “I’ve arrested Malfoy’s dad, they’re going to fight in court until the end to prove he’s innocent… I feel like that’s what they’re going to do,” Harry sighed.
He wasn’t happy about what was coming, but at least he was satisfied that the bastard was out of the streets, and there wouldn’t be more killings. Harry was about to say something else when he suddenly received a message through his father’s patronus.
“What the…? Are you serious? Tell my dad I'll be there!” Harry couldn’t believe what the stag told him.
“Harry, what’s wrong?” Ron asked with a raised brow.
“Bellatrix… She woke up a few moments ago,” Harry declared with a happy smile.
Everyone was surprised to hear that, but only a few selected people knew why he was so happy.
“Harry, if you want to go and see her, you have my permission,” Tonks told him with a smirk.
Harry hates when he gets dismissed; however, this situation is just too special for him to say no, so he nodded and accepted. Soon, he left the place and apparated to St. Mungo’s.
He ran through the corridors as fast as he could because the place was busy. The last thing he wanted was to make the lives of the healers and their jobs even harder; then, he finally reached Bellatrix’s room.
“Harry!” Lily told him.
“I don’t want to waste my time, so I’ll be blunt… We have him, we have the bastard,” Harry declared, and everyone but Draco and Narcissa looked happy.
It seems like they finally got the news.
“I’m sorry, I know you’re going through something very difficult, and you are probably having difficulties deciding which side to pick, but… Think about Bellatrix, the woman we all love. You don’t have to abandon Lucius, but he got into this mess by himself,” Harry told them with a serious expression. “Don’t let your love for Lucius blind your logic, don’t be cowards,” Harry said to them.
He surprised them as he brought up the argument that Draco used when he was trying to run away from the situation. Harry didn’t waste time; it was his duty as her husband to see her as soon as possible. When he entered the room, he was surprised he wasn’t being yelled at for being off duty.
Bellatrix was there in her bed, looking at the ceiling with a lost expression. Harry couldn’t help but feel some guilt; she shouldn’t be here. It should be him, he feels so stupid not realizing sooner that Lucius was the one behind all this, after all, he had the resources and everything to succeed, and also, he was back in their department when the explosion took place.
“Wow… You’re a very handsome young man,” Bellatrix suddenly took him out of his thoughts.
“And you’re stunning, Bella,” Harry declared with a soft smile.
The older woman didn’t know why, but it felt nice hearing that name from this man.
“I don’t know why, but… It feels good, you know? Please say my name once again,” she said with a soft smile.
Harry was surprised to see Bellatrix acting like this, so simple, caring, calm, it was like an ideal version of the woman he was falling for.
“Bella,” he repeated, and she giggled.
“My name’s Harry, by the way,” he told her with a shrug.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Harry. Are we close or something?” She asked with curiosity.
Before they could continue, someone else got inside. It was Hermione; it seems like it was time for them to get serious.
“Good evening, it’s time to discuss her condition and the treatment,” Hermione spoke in the most serious tone she could get.
Harry nodded. He was ready; he wanted to support Bellatrix as much as he could.
