Chapter #23: The proposal.
Bellatrix was worried; it had been hours since Harry left the house, and there was no sign of him. She knew the outside world was in chaos right now, and she couldn’t help but worry about him. Ever since she came back from the hospital after her accident, they've become closer.
Apparently, they were falling in love when she lost her memory during that explosion. It hurt her head to think about that explosion. People tell her that she was a very strong witch, but she doesn’t remember being like that; in fact, she was scared of fighting.
And it’s not like she could do much in her current state. Even if magic protects the child from whatever danger there might be close by, the baby was still human, and humans are delicate, so, in this state, she couldn’t do anything that could put the child in danger.
So, she decided that as a supposed good wife, it was better for her to stay at home even if it didn't make her completely happy to wait for her husband that she has no memory of, still, she was worried about him, she missed him, even if his job was stressing, he always sure to speak with her and make food for her which is the thing she likes the most about him, she loves the food he makes.
However, before she could continue thinking about her husband, the main door of the house was opened, and she lit up when she saw a known silhouette; it was Harry, and he was smirking.
“Harry… I’m glad you’re back, I was getting desperate because it's been so long since you left!” She said before sighing with relief.
He didn’t say anything; he just got closer. She didn’t know him very well, but she knew him well enough to know that this wasn’t his usual behavior. So, she decided to move around the room to find something she needed. It was her wand, and she was going to stun this fake Harry, but she wasn’t fast enough; sadly, that wasn’t the case for the fake Harry, who quickly disarmed her and took her wand.
“Oh… That’s not the way you should greet your husband, unless he’s into some kinky shit, but I don’t think that’s the case, right?” Asked the fake Harry with a smirk.
“W-who are you? What happened to the guards?” Asked Bellatrix, worried.
“Those weaklings? I told them that their services weren’t needed anymore. I would’ve killed them, but I’m in kind of a hurry, you know? But don't be sad, I’m taking you to your husband,” the fake Harry said with a smirk.
Before Bellatrix could say anything, she was hit with a spell that left her unconscious, and so, after that, she was taken to Riddle’s manor. Harry couldn’t believe it. Lucius decided to kidnap Bellatrix, and now, it seems like she was going to share the same fate as he, but before he could say something, Lucius decided to silence him.
“Sir, the protections on the house have been placed; we have at least ten minutes before they come for us,” one of the masked men told Lucius, and he nodded.
“Before I kill you two, I want her to know that this was your fault. I want her last memory to be the one of you betraying her and the child she’s carrying. She’s going to become a ghost, and not even in the afterlife will you be able to reunite with her,” Lucius smiled viciously.
Harry tried to scream and shout as loudly as he could so she could hear him, but it was all for nothing; there was no sound coming out of his mouth because of the silencing charm. Lucius, on the other hand, didn’t waste time, and soon, he erased some of Bellatrix's memories and then woke her up. The older witch slowly opened her eyes; she couldn’t see much.
“Harry?” She asked as she remembered the last thing she saw before falling asleep.
She just remembered Harry arriving home, and then she fell asleep.
“Hello, Bella,” she heard a known voice.
“Lucius… What’s going on?!” She asked with a scared expression.
Lucius couldn’t believe it. The angry, terrifying Bellatrix Black was scared, and he loved seeing her like that; she had always treated him like shit, it was time for payback.
“You’re not getting away with this, Lucius… They’re going to get you!” Bellatrix said desperately.
“I’m sorry, Bella, but please, don’t blame me; this was actually your husband’s idea. He was tired of you not remembering him, and so, he decided to sacrifice you so he could live,” Lucius lied.
“No… No, he wouldn’t do that!” Bellatrix said desperately.
“If you say so, if that helps you sleep at night, you can pretend that’s the truth, but I know very well what happened. He betrayed you, Bellatrix, you and your child,” Lucius taunted her.
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing, and soon she started to sob.
“Don’t cry, Bella, it’s not over yet, you know? I have your husband in the other room, the fool thought that giving you to us would make us forgive him; however, we don’t need someone like that, we actually need people like you, Bella,” Lucius said with a smirk.
“W-what do you mean?” She asked with a confused expression.
“You’re strong, Bella, that’s more than obvious… We need strong people like you!” Lucius said with a smirk. “Think about the baby, Bella, you and he can thrive and survive as long as you give us your power!” The insane Malfoy couldn’t help but smirk at the thought of having someone as powerful as Bellatrix on their side.
The dark-haired witch remained silent; she didn’t have much choice. She wanted her child to live; had she been alone, she would’ve preferred death. Right now, she can’t think about herself.
“I’ll do it,” she said in a serious tone.
Lucius started to laugh, and everyone started to clap. Having someone like Bellatrix on their side was making them feel proud.
“Bring the prisoner!” Lucius ordered, and soon Harry was brought.
He was tied to a chair, and yet, his expression full of hatred towards Lucius never disappeared.
“What a gruesome sight, Bellatrix, this is going to be your initiation task… You have to kill Harry Potter, the father of your child and your husband,” Lucius said with a grin.
Soon, one of the masked men gave Lucius the wand that belonged to Bellatrix, and then, he decided to use that wand to free her and give it back to her. Bellatrix, with tears in her eyes, couldn’t help but point her wand at Harry.
“I can’t believe you would betray us like this…” She said with sadness.
“Ah… This is so nostalgic, I still remember the day of the explosion,” Lucius said with a grin. “I guess you don’t remember the last conversation we had, Bella… I realized that you and Potter were getting closer, and I told you to stop with that because it would only lead you to pain, and here we are,” Lucius sighed.
Harry couldn’t help but bitterly smile. Lucius was right for once.
“Anyway… I think you should better—” Lucius couldn’t continue as he was suddenly attacked by Bellatrix.
It was a cutting hex; it was a hex strong enough to destroy the arm he used to lift his wand.
“Y-you bitch… Kill her!” He ordered.
However, Harry suddenly realized something: the new Bellatrix was gone, and instead, the Auror, the woman he fell in love with, was back.
