Today we are going to learn how to play Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the ukulele... in the chord melody/fingerstyle! That means we will be playing the harmony and the melody at the same time! The song has an intro riff, verse, pre-chorus break, pre-chorus and a chorus, we will walk you through each piece individually with all the tabs on the screen doing a mini play-along for each section and then at the very end with all the tabs will do a larger play-along to show you how all the pieces come together. Red Hot Chili Peppers songs are famous for the riffs especially when John Frusicante is in the band, as he was for this album and the Frusciante riff at the beginning isn't his hardest, in fact it is one of his easiest, but it is a great example of how simple can be beautiful. RHCP are also pretty famous for having songs with a lot of movement and pieces as well and this song is no exception, I did not include the solo as this is just an instrumental piece but if you are playing with a friend and you want to include the solo it is in teh strummer tutorial linked below.
