Just to clarify: I am enjoying the story! It's just that I have never played a game like this before: with heavy choice based dialogue and options. Its a first time experience! I gotta get used to committing to options and embracing the chaos hahaha. This was a little test to see if I could handle it and so try out things like Until Dawn and The Walking Dead at a later date which I know people love and I've never played! QTEs are the next hurdle to tackle haha. Anyway, there's a survey portion in this and I freak out about the world's answers... :)

Well there goes my plan for a nap! Haha excited to see more of this!

Would love to see more of this kind of game! You're doing really well for a first time in my opinion. You have a very unique approach and we enjoy your playthroughs for that 🤖

Smallg

yes, embrace the chaos, try not to stress about the "right" or "wrong" choices, it's all part of the experience/story :)

Nothing like a good panic attack at the beginning of a recording session.

Not played Detroit, but I'd really enjoy watching some more of these types of games if you enjoy it, The Walking Dead is a great series.

I'm glad you brought up people using ChatGPT for therapy. What a wild thing to read about. When you saw how many people would shack up with an android, I was gonna say that make sense because of how many people are using A.I. for therapy. That indeed was a dope ass jacket waiting for Markus to sling over his shoulder, haha. Yes, these games are extremely stressful. You're always asking yourself, "Did I fuck up? Did I fuck up? Oh, God I fucked up." Lol. Excited to hear Until Dawn maybe in the pipeline. Possibly even MORE stress inducing.

RE: Q1 of the survey - Whilst I'd be a no as well, I can understand why people might say yes. The dating world is a hellscape unless you're super attractive, super rich or super confident (preferably all three), and it can be very lonely and emotionally devastating when you get shot down whilst at your most vulnerable. Personal experience has taught me that far too many times. I don't want to make assumptions, but I would imagine the majority of the people that said yes are shy or introverted, and the possibility of finding happiness without having to change, deal with rejection or put themselves out there to be judged by others is an appealing one.

One thing that made me feel sad is that you said you feel you are being judged when doing playthoughs. The most important thing you should know is that you are never being judged. I think I can speak for all, that we are all following the playthroughs and enjoying them, no matter the choices. Even the so called "wrong" ones ;-) Keep on playing. Just make sure you play the ones YOU enjoy; not just the ones you think that WE enjoy and you must suffer through!

This has been great to watch. Though I can see why it’s stressful. Those flowcharts feel eerily like the ones keeping me up at night as I reflect on my own life choices. Embracing chaos and imperfection seems like the right way to approach a first playthrough. Those who judge your choices are missing the point of the experience... just like those who’d prefer a relationship with an artificial human over a real one. AI can offer a hauntingly accurate reflection, but not a genuine connection. It won’t belly laugh or cry with you, won’t share awkward childhood stories, or challenge you in a way that (like you said) builds trust. And like our phones already do, it can interfere with the connections that matter most. It's so curated to our sensibilities, we don’t notice when our weaknesses are being exploited. We're bewitched! Knowing and loving people is not easy. We’re emotional. Confusing. Difficult. But the beauty is in the effort...even if it's clumsy. That’s what’s real. That’s what builds empathy. The more “human” AI seems, the less human we risk becoming toward each other. Humanity could atrophy. Scary, for sure. Thank you for being so honest in your playthroughs. I think it helps give other people permission to be more open and genuine...including myself.

Man, those are some pretty personal questions casually asked in the middle of your videogame. I’m mostly on the same page as you. 1. I don’t want a relationship with an android. 2. I do think technology can be a threat to humankind, not in a Terminator-way, but in a severe-unemployment-way and megacorporations-rule-our-lives-way (I also think that’s why the game is set in Detroit, because the population there suffered from those same things under the rule of car manufacturers). 3. To a deserted island I’d bring either a cellphone, assuming there is reception, or an instrument, assuming I’m cut off from the world entirely. 4. Sadly dependent on technology haha. 5. Technology I anticipate: I expect space tourism to become a thing relatively soon, but of these four options I’d dislike it the least if androids get invented. 6. I don’t believe in God. 7. I don’t have children, but I don’t think I would want an android taking care of them (though there are some sick people as well). 8. Haha for the electronic device usage, I’d like to quote my favourite Let’s Player: “All day long, babe” 😂 9. Emergency surgery? Give me the machine; they don’t get cocky or hungover or just had a breakup or sneeze or have tremors they’re keeping a secret, etc. Machines can malfunction, but so can people, I’m fine with either one operating on me. 10. I don’t think machines can develop consciousness, I even hesitate calling them “intelligent”, it’s just data collection and regurgitation (and optionally re-ordering/scrambling), isn’t it?

I think you nailed it regarding relationships.
