HISTORY
-Unbeknownst to the Homelanders of the region, the Grenwich Rivers* have been slowly losing flow strength over the last couple of centuries. These rivers were originally created and maintained by the Calderans in ages past to help fertilise the once-dry eastern regions of the area. Thankfully, it will likely still be several more centuries before the flow slows to levels that would be concerning. In fact, a great many Homeland rivers and streams were created artificially, often by moulding the land using magical means. Most Homelanders incorrectly consider it normal for lakes, rivers, and streams to split off in different directions naturally. Time will inevitably correct those assumptions, but the Calderans were good at what they did, so it will still be quite some time before then.
*(The Grenwich Rivers flow directly east of Grenwich. Not to be confused with the Grenwich Spillway, which forms the southern border of Homeland territory, and was originally the only drainage for the Basin.)
